Hero to a Zero

Absolutely no imagination on developing his skills. He keeps rushing from one action to next, no plans at all. He doesn’t use his weapons but relies on his ‘women’ for his fights more and more. He became a wimp, yet gets aggressive at a drop of a hat. He spends half the time injured, nursed back to life. With his intestines still hanging on the outside, all he can think about is his loins and sex. Who the heck can lose 2/3 of their blood supply and still get an erection?
Way too much sex, too little plot. BTW, is there a law against bringing more than 4 people to a war?
This will be the last book I spend my money on as I realize, that as the series goes on, I find myself resenting the hero more and more.
When the main character becomes stupid or has no imagination, it means the author has no imagination.

Please do not keep chopping up the story to less than 10-14 hrs. Otherwise another interesting book.
I don’t have beef with narrator but the guy just cant fake a female voice if his life depended on it. Not even on a cross dresser level.

Difficulty set to Insane. I began to actively hate the injustice befalling our heroes. A very good show of character’s strength and faith. The sunshine after the storm is always brighter.
Great second effort to the first book.

Was not sure at first glance but quickly got immersed in storyline. Great character building, simple system to understand. Storyline driven where you don’t need a calculator and a notebook to follow progression. Also no chapter filling stat recalls.
I still find the less than 10 hr/book format to be price gauging but that is Audible’s fault.
One of the better builders VRMMORPG stories in a great while. Don’t be afraid to try.

The entire 8+ hours of this overpriced “book” was about a friggin mimic. The description in the summary is misleading, there is NO hero. The main character(MC) is an idiotic mimic and its demon familiars.
Do NOT under any circumstances buy this crap unless you enjoy overpaying for only 8 hours of shiat.

After a great first book, the second iteration falls short. The MC became a completely incompetent character. His group combat contributions are even worse than the healers. He now relies on gimmicks and luck to achieve a victory. The writer spends way more time describing what everyone else is doing while our hero is doing nothing but watching? The MC frequently gets one-shotted or interrupted in his attacks. A complete waste of party space.
I will probably NOT buy a 3rd book if the MC stays in this trajectory. He got castrated completely.

Listening to this book was starting to reduce my IQ. Not only was the narration way too intense and lacking a proper cadence, the story itself was dragging. I made it to midway through and spent a whole lot of hours listening to an emerging plotline that could have been covered in 2-3 chapters. I will see if I can get my credit back by returning this ebook.

It was great storytelling; subterfuge, plotting, rebellion and lotsa fighting. Lots of self reflections and moral dilemmas. Oh, and did I say lotsa fighting?

Every male character, except secondary male protagonist is either a cruel misogynist or an incompetent and obtuse blundering idiot. Women lead, kick butt and are superior or they are abused and must be rescued by the overpowered female characters.
The “he said, she said” dual storyline also gets old, fast. If you use both female AND male voice actors, then use them in both storylines.
Story concept is straight out of Starship Troopers, but is fundamentally solid.
