I like it all !!!
I loved the perspective of the story through the point of view of a princess and her nurse and eventual life long mother figure. Hate when it ends

Story
Meanwhile, Gillan McArdle’s academic career is ending because of one stupid lapse of judgement. Offered a short-term contract, he lands on the Hebridean island of Harris to investigate obscure animal bones. Quickly dismissing the unicorn skull as a thinly disguised fake, he can’t deny there’s something unusual about these bones. Baited by rumors of a majestic tusked horse roaming the uplands, Gill begins to suspect someone is manipulating him. As he gradually unravels the mystery of the skull, he grasps a disturbing conclusion: If this creature does exist, the evidence suggests it’s a killer.

Delphinium Nielsen and her sisters have accomplished much in the past year, traveling west and settling in Nebraska. They are on their way to building a garden in dedication to their mother and working against the forces of nature to make their farm thrive. However, none of that can mask their concern that they are quickly running out of money. Del's work teaching in their booming town offers hope, not only to support her sisters financially, but also to better her students' lives.

Once again an enjoyable and not dark listen. It’s been perfect for me right now.
Most Christians will enjoy this book, but unbelievers will find it is too much God talk. Hopefully they’ll listen anyway, because in those days Christianity was more prevalent.

My husband was shocked that I was listening to a nook which is mostly about wars. Learning history through fiction is enjoyable. It makes me look deeper in researching what the actual events were and timeline.

This was a hard subject, but learning of the horrors of the potato famine and the persecution of the Irish by England at that time was eye opening. I liked the story and wish it continued on for longer. Maybe a sequel in the future?
