overall love the books so far... But during the conclave raid alonia, for some reason, did not bring the box of mana shards that the evil monks had given her.. not explained why but according to the book they were quite powerful. and during the fighting she was talking about watching her power usage.. not absorbing the monks she killed??? I mean just early in the book she killed a Dood just for touching yalonia... you'd think she do Everything in her power to get her back... she's absorbed people in the past for MUCH less. Just do not understand these plot holes.

Story
Even though he never intended it to happen, the events that occurred in the city of Forgestone have set Thaden on a course to fix the problems that he inadvertently caused. His inner sense of responsibility has now put him firmly on the path to eliminate or at least minimize the destruction and loss of life that could occur from the fallout of the SPECIAL Quests he’s been assigned, so he is putting all his focus on accomplishing this feat as soon as possible.

MC is a pussy
Reviewed: 10-30-24
liked: very amazing enchanting system and magic system, like wow.
duslikes: very little action or fighting. the MC constantly questions himself about violence in a world where monsters are literally trying to kill everything. he's a freaking pacifist. the only reason I'm still listening to this book is the aforementioned magic/enchanter system. mostly boring.

confusing system, lack of info
Reviewed: 08-18-23
I've listened to the first 2 books, though the narrator has gotten a little better, i still have to listen to this book at 1.15 to 1.2 due to over long pauses. Not sure why the producer has not fixed this.
The story was better in this book than the second. Though i still feel the lack of information about the "system" and the rules is very frustrating. the MC had plenty of time/opportunities to acquire this information but did not, and made decision without adequate information.... And though she got the highest point total, won everything, she was not offered the island????? That's boarding on absurd. Even if it was not her intention to keep it, she still should have gotten the option, and made a decision between it and the blue pill... like Alex had an option.
Some internal inconsistencies. but overall the writer is getting better.
I know it's a hard and grueling/tedious job to get your story right. You can do it :)

Story
Combat is literally her middle name. Chimeric Adaptive Enhanced Combat Operator - but now Caeco Jensen - works for the FBI, building a new life and trying to learn from a painful past. It’s hard to fit in when you are one of a kind, but maybe, just maybe, there’s a place for her in this world. That is, if threats from off planet don’t ruin it first. Forging and protecting a new future with a her unique skillset won’t be easy, maybe almost as hard as making new friends.

i hate CAECO
Reviewed: 09-19-19
CAECO IS A HORRIBLE character. She's harmed the MC. Given out valuable data to the government that is likely to get him killed or imprisoned for study. I'd hoped OMEGA would kill her off. Sadly she still lives. this book is an outlier in the series. and a bad one.
