Story
With the same winning wit and candor that touched several generations of fans in Losing It, Finding It is an optimistic story for trying times. It's about believing in love and happiness, having faith that both are possible, and finding out that God does want you to enjoy life's desserts - even when you're on a diet.

Too much political talk and image obsession!
Reviewed: 09-24-10
I really liked Valerie Bertinelli's first book, "Losing It" and found it very entertaining to listen to. But in this follow up to it I felt like I was listening to her spout on and on about how much she loves to give her political opinion and that her whole universe would have collapsed if she didn't get below 130 lbs to get in that bikini. I am sure it is in part because she works in an industry that values image above all else and that she lives in one of the most liberal states in the union. She, like the rest of Hollywood, has no idea what it's like to live day by day, juggle work and a family and not have the convenience of a personal trainer at your beck and call. Sure if we all had time and resources like the Hollywood types then we would not have a weight problem in this country.
If you want to find out how she has been doing since the weight lose then read it. But really this made me feel like I had something wrong with me since I was not under a size 6 and I happen to think that Obama has not saved our country.

Story
Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life - boating, swimming , and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies -- he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door.

I normally love Nicholas Sparks books. But there is a reason I read them, not to get creeped out. This one was very creepy. I did not like the stalker story line. But I still love Nicholas Sparks, just not this book.

Good but a bit lacking.

I love these books, but I have to say that this one was a bit lacking in the story line. It felt like Joanne Fluke just threw this book together to meet a deadline. But worth the read if you have been following the story line of Hannah Swensen.

This story was too long and had way too many things going on at once. I found it hard to concentrate on the main story line. I was actually glad when I was done with it.

Story
Dewey is the heartwarming story of Dewey Readmore Books, the beloved library cat of Spencer, Iowa, as told by his owner and companion of 19 years, Vicki Myron, the librarian who found him on a frigid January morning when he was abandoned as a kitten in the book drop slot. It is also the story of a remarkable small town, which burned down at the beginning of the Depression, only to rebuild itself again.

Story
"They are love, those rare early friendships." As she travels to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a reunion with three of her college chums, Kate Abrams ponders the past. Had she ever known anyone as intimately as these three? There's smart, tough Cecie; foolish, lonely Fig; and pert, wealthy Ginger, who married young Kate's great love. Kate wonders whether such sublime bonds, and such deep betrayals, can survive the years. She is, after all, no stranger to life's ironies.

By the title and description it looked like a really good story. But the author just rambles and skips all over the place. The story is hard to follow and the characters are not very endearing. I could only take about 1 hour of it and just turned it off.
