Story
The ancient magic of wizards was anything but dark. It was the enlightenment that lifted humanity from the squalor of superstition, and the worship of fell spirits and capricious gods, but those days are gone. The shining glory of the sorcerers burned away the subtlety of wisdom, replacing it with easy power, held only in the hands of the elite - a new age built upon the elemental supremacy of aristocrats and the ignorance of the masses.

This author has it down, good pace, always leaves a little mystery. In his prime this book is another excellent series. What more can you say this author just gets how to write a story and it’s top notch.

I think it was really good about this book is that it kept the action on point like right when you think everything’s gonna be good then something comes up and it and it will keep it going very good. It’s been hard for me to find a book that is as good as kings dark tidings by Cal Kayde this book is close. Very good.

Models is the first book ever written on seduction as an emotional process rather than a logical one, a process of connecting with women rather than impressing them. It's the most mature and honest guide on how a man can attract women without faking behavior, without lying and without emulating others. A game-changer.

Lusam grew up in the relative safety of the Elveen mountains with his grandmother. She taught him the basics of magic and discovered, quite by accident, that he possessed a unique skill never seen before: the ability to hide his magical aura from the mage-sight of others. Dark secrets surround Lusam's origins, and the dark agents of the Empire will stop at nothing to kill Lusam.

The reader of these books is really good. I like finding his voice and listening, it's funny tho because if you listen a bunch other stories that Alex has read flash back in my mind. He can only do so many different voices and in this one he must have done. 30 different characters it's quite a lot of dynamics to play that many characters

This book has a lot of characters so it can get confusing, but it's a good book anyways. I have been getting into these books lately to escape this world and this one really does take you somewhere else. I don't think it's the absolute best book ever and at times yes you can get lost in the details, but the story is good and entertaining and lots of action. It's really good to listen to.
Enjoy

Talen is in the hands of a powerful half-beast, a creature twisted for war, who is convinced the most merciful thing to do with Talen is kill him. But he might not have that chance, for Nashrud, the Divine sleth hunter, is hot on their trail. As they flee, the two can only hope the perils of the Wilds will save them, for if they are taken, both will become the tools of Mokad. Back on the coast, Sugar is sent to guide Argoth and a handful of warriors on a mission to assassinate Mokad's Skir Master.

Closure
Reviewed: 07-20-17
It was a good tale, it's nice to get away from this world for a little while.
It has a good ending that wraps things up, some books leave you on the edge of your seat at the end, it's hard on my brain to do that and I like when things wrap up, yes there is still room in this ending for the story to continue but for now this book has come to a close. That is how a book should be.

After accidentally discovering the possible existence of a second Guardian book, Lusam and his party are remorselessly hunted high into the Elveen mountains by the Empire agents, who are intent on killing or capturing them. What they discover there may very well change the balance of power in their favor against the Thule Empire. But their discovery will count for nothing if they cannot reach Lamuria in time to try and stop the massive invasion force sent by Lord Zelroth.
