As someone with ADHD, this is such a helpful resource. I don’t have to drive my teacher crazy by asking him to repeat the words so much and I can walk around and practice speaking, rather than sitting with a book the whole time. Really helpful for my learning. 🥰 Thanks!

A brilliant resource to get started with French. Great to pair with something like Rosetta Stone. I used it for a few weeks as a total beginner and my French teacher is so impressed that he called me his “best student.” 🥰

I’m working on sex and love addiction with BDSM involved. I’m not a therapist and my therapist doesn’t really use IFS, so I feel like I have to do this on my own - although I share what I’m doing with her in therapy sessions. This book helped me immensely to see how my parts interact together and how to connect with them in helpful ways. I’m in a 12 Step program, but I feel IFS helps so much since I have a part that is a sub, and it will fight me if I try to get rid of it and I see that as repressing a desire I have rather than truly showing up for it and working with it in a helpful way. IFS gives me a framework to deal with my sex addiction and kink parts in ways that see their needs and pain and how they are trying to help me, so I can work with them in compassionate ways. I have to put this into practice now, so it’s a book I will listen to more than once. Really a fantastic read. Thank you for talking about exiles because so many IFS books say a therapist needs to deal with that, which pisses my manager part off since I don’t have an IFS therapist and have to do this work mostly on my own, sharing with others after the fact. I know that’s not ideal, but we don’t live in a world where everyone can get an IFS therapist, so I truly appreciate when resources help walk me through the whole of IFS. This book didn’t shy away from the difficult work around exiles. Much gratitude and love. 🙏❤️

I wish more people would read this, but because of the subject matter many religious people close their mind out of prejudice. The book discusses this very issue and the mostly political implications of Satanism as a liberation movement. A charming and educational read.

It is so nice to be back recording some episodes. This has been a weird month for me - you probably noticed episodes have been inconsistent and I’ve been rather quiet on social media. Unfortunately, I was insanely sick for nearly three weeks, but I’m finally coming out the other side and experiencing some glimpses of energy again. This week, I explore generational trauma, focusing on the Mother Wound. I discuss how trauma can impact us unintentionally and through the concept of epigenetics. Using The Star archetype, I navigate hope, resilience, and healing in strained parental ...

Story
Each of us has a dual nature: we are light (conscious) and dark (unconscious). The dark side of our personality - the “other,” the shadow side - is made up of what we think is our primitive, primal, negative impulses - our “existential kink.” Our existential kink also drives the dark or negative repeating patterns in our life: always choosing the abusive partner or boss, settling for less, thinking that we’re undeserving, not worthy. But it also is the source of our greatest power.

I love the mix of the occult and psychological in this text. I think I need to listen again to digest and practice the ideas, but after a first read I enjoy the mindset shift she suggests. I find her suggestions nuanced and thoughtful. The most important idea seems to be embracing our shadow with the pleasure that comes from curiosity and the hidden personal rewards that come with many of our irritating situations. People who shoot her work down on GoodReads seem more literal, material science, and academia minded. I think her work is more experimental and exists in the borderlands of the occult, spiritual, and psychological. I don’t think everything has to be literally sexually a turn on - but I think the idea is that in difficult situations, we often have some possible sense of delight reminiscent or directly connected to sexual kinkiness. I found it fascinating and definitely worth further study. <3

This book gives an awesome blend of history and modern popular culture to tell about Witchcraft from an insider’s perspective. It takes the important political aspects of Witchcraft into account beautifully. <3 It allows for literal and metaphorical views of the Craft.
