Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

way to long too much detail science
Reviewed: 03-25-25
I liked the premise of the book and the main character. however he was way to smart to fix everything quickly with some science experiments that I didn't need to hear is such detail. book could have been a ot shorter because of these things which mostly I did not understand not being a scientist myself. i found myself not listening at all during these and letting book go on.

I really enjoyed learning all about the horses and their struggles during WWII. However I think the book could have done without all the background on the individuals and how different horses were trained by others than the Lippizaners. Still a good read.

I liked the story but the virtual narration was so monotone and flat that it made the listening to the story tiring and boring. would not recommend any virtual voice books. sad to say but would have liked another by this author but will not do it.

I enjoyed learning about the "real" Alice Diamond but the book was too drawn out with dialog in her head and not much in giving more information on the Mint. Too much jumping around among the characters as I got lost on who was who and how they connected in the story. Interesting about the gang but not enough about the actual environment.
