Loved the plot. The characters were genuine, real and engaging. I love historical fiction and enjoy stories set in the 1940s.

Story
When Gilbert Baty leaves his childhood love and moves to New York City in 1901 to secure his place as a composer and conductor, he is met with rejection at every turn. Out of funds and opportunities, he returns to his hometown, the Mennonite community of Falke, Kansas, in the hopes of finding new inspiration—and work—just to tide him over. Ava Flaming never expected to see Gil again, and his sudden return stirs the old feelings she’d worked so hard to bury. When Gil forms the town’s first youth band, she finds herself falling for him all over again.

The plot is exciting and engaging and kept my interest throughout.
The characters are wonderful, relatable and believable. Their faith is inspiring and the scripture references weaved throughout the narrative uplifts both them and the reader.
The narrator is one of my favorites. She did an excellent job.
If possible, I would give this book ten stars.

Marshalling Her Heart is a fascinating book with an intriguing plot. It can be listened to as a stand alone, but would be best after listening to the first two in the series.
This series is one of the best I have heard. Ms McCulloh did an excellent job with the narration.

Join Greg Laurie as he takes a cross-country drive in his 1968 Highland Green Ford Mustang 390 GT through the canyons of Malibu, the alleys of Hollywood, the wide and open roads of the Midwest, the streets of New York, as he traces the wooly geography of actor Steve McQueen's life, relationships, career, and spiritual journey. In the 1960s, McQueen was, according to box office receipts, the biggest movie star of his generation and one of the coolest men to ever walk the planet.
