America is a barren landscape of smoldering ashes, devoid of life except for those people still struggling to scratch out some type of existence. Amidst this destruction, a father and his young son walk, always toward the coast, but with no real understanding that circumstances will improve once they arrive. The Narrator is surprisingly effective

I really wanted to listen to this book but was a little skeptical of the single narrator being able to portray The Man and The Child. He is perfect. he gives the performance exactly what it needs. Its a very emotionally taxing story but well worth a listen. There's deep subtext here but what I came away with most is that this is a book about stewardship of the next generation. Our collective responsibility to carry the fire. And to believe in hope where none should exist at all.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Dumb book for dumb people?
Reviewed: 02-19-19
I was expecting a book that was going to walk the listener through a process. Instead, the author has put together a middle-brow, crass, and essentially, a redundant book that is void of any substance. Seriously, it sucks. Don't listen to this trash book.

Story
In December 2017 the famous porn star August Ames committed suicide in a park in the Conejo Valley. It happened a day after she’d been the victim of a pile-on, via Twitter, by fellow porn professionals - punishment for her tweeting something deemed homophobic. A month later, August’s husband, Kevin, connected with Jon Ronson to tell the story of how Twitter bullying killed his wife. What neither Kevin nor Ronson realized was that Ronson would soon hear rumors and secrets hinting at a very different story - something mysterious and unexpected and terrible.

the reporter is great and I love his work on This American Life but I wasn't too impressed with the story. it's sad and might be a wake up call for those unfamiliar with the porn industry but this is no 'Criminal' so lower your expectations before listening.

Tried and true sales knowledge here

This is an excellent book for anyone selling SaaS. There are a lot of Cole's notes about selling but this book goes deep into what a good sales process looks like. Very well paced too so you're engaged throughout. A testament to the knowledge within.
