Early American Historical Romance
Reviewed: 01-13-25
I so enjoyed this audio book. Listening to it was like being at a play, seeing the story with your ears instead of your eyes.
it is a story of the fledgling colony of Williamsburg populated with people from all walks of life. The author's thorough research of early American history comes through in the lives of the people from indentured servants to the wealthy, to staunch supporters of the King to Colonial rebels. The story has villains, heroes, betrayal, new beginnings, romance, redemption, faith and hope. The gospel message is woven sweetly throughout.
The highlight of the audio book for me is the narration. The author narrates the story herself and she gives every single character their own voice, from the young John with his cockney accent to the Scottish brogue of Mrs. MacKinnon.
I highly recommend this book and give it a solid 5 star rating.

Having already read this book, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the audio. I am so glad I listened. I gained new insights and a deeper love for Jesus.
The narrator did a marvelous job with different character portrayal.
I highly recommend it.

I had never thought how it was for the first humans especially after the exile from Eden. I was mesmerized, I was in deep thought and had to go to my Bible to see what a difference this book made in my own reading of Scripture. this book has left an impact on how I see God's love.
thank you for a wonderful story.
the narration did a very good job of distinguishing between characters.
Five star book all the way

In ancient Samaria, Aban anticipates his rites of passage with excitement and dread. He yearns to join the priesthood of Ba’al Melqart, unlock the power of the rain god, and hear the deity’s voice. He’s been warned the licentious ceremony can take a dangerous turn, but as eldest son of the high priestess, he holds a privileged position. If he can make it through the ceremony, one day he’ll rise to high priest.

Exciting Biblical History Story
Reviewed: 05-12-24
The book is a wonderful, exciting fictional telling of the prophet Elijah and the time and people surrounding him. The story held true to Biblical events while an exciting fictional story was woven around them.
Dana McNeely did an excellent job of providing faith in Yahweh throughout while giving us a page turning novel.
The narration was superb and had me so caught up that I sometimes forgot what I was doing.
The only downside for me was the female voice impersonation. Joseph Courtemanche did his best and eventually I got used to it but it took a few chapters. Mr Courtemanche has an excellent voice for narration and did a good job of distinguishing chatacters.
I look forward to listening to more from this author and Mr. Courtemanche.
this was my first ever audio book.
