Better than anything ever.
Reviewed: 07-15-18
I have read thousands and thousands of books. Atheists who kneel and Pray is the best audio book I have ever experienced. I feel gutted and hopeful and have cried 6 times at least throughout the book. Yarra and David were amazingly well written magical characters.

Story
A new town, a new school, a new start. That's what 14-year-old Gray Wilton believes as he chants, "It's gonna be better, gonna be better here." But it doesn't take long for Gray to realize that nothing's going to change--there are bullies in every school, and he's always their punching bag. Gray feels trapped in a world where he has no control and no way out--until the day he enters the halls with his father's semiautomatic in hand.

Every high school teacher should read
Reviewed: 08-26-17
I feel like everyone involved in high school administration should listen to it read this book. It is very detailed about the things to look for when a kid has been pushed to far by his classmates. It would help avoid a lot of misery and possibly even save some lives if more people who work with kids were able to read this book and apply the knowledge. Not an easy read but a damned good one.

Claire Dederer is a happily married mother of two, ages nine and 12, when she suddenly finds herself totally despondent and, simultaneously, suffering through a kind of erotic reawakening. This exuberant memoir shifts between her present experience as a middle-aged mom in the grip of mysterious new hungers and herself as a teenager - when she last experienced life with such heightened sensitivity and longing.

Gritty wonderful terrible truth.

I really loved this book. I thought I that Claire hits dead on about the difficulties and joys that come with being a woman heading into middle age. It was hard to hear sometimes but let me tell you something, the truth generally is.

I was led to these short stories by listening to Mishka Shaboly's full length book "I swear I'll make it up to you." He did not disappoint. I can totally be away from my world when listening to his stories. I highly recommend, if you like the shorts, that you immediately purchase his full length book. It is one of the best real story of a boy (and then a mans) journey through the hell of addiction and then through to the other side that I have ever read. Being an addictions professional, a recovering addict, and a voracious reader I can definitely say that I have read most of them. More more more! MISHKA PLEASE WRITE MORE.
