I couldn’t finish listening to it and decided to just get Kindle book. The narrator’s voice was detrimental to the story— monotonous and grating to listen to

I had never heard of this rare disorder but it was not just informative. The characters were realistic and well-developed. The performance was also excellent!!! I would highly recommend this book and I am going to look for other books by this author.

Picture of Cute Dog on cover convinced me to buy the book, but it was a tedious narrative of the author’s thoughts, feelings, etc. while he despaired about his lost dog. I felt sorry for him, but it was not really interesting. I would not recommend this book even to anyone.

Characters were believable and well- developed and provided a glimpse of how the war affected a range of individuals. Certainly the war was devastating to American families also, but how fortunate Americans were to be living on this side of the Atlantic—-and how EVIL Hitler and the Nazis were!

The story was good, but the narrator used the same harsh voice for several of the characters and they didn’t all deserve to be portrayed like that. I’m considering just listening to earlier books again rather than get any of the more recent ones on Audible. I think it would be better to just read them and have the original character voices in my head.

This book was clearly written and understandable, but it was rather tedious unless you really the
manufactured plots of soap operas— with drunks, wayward children, and semi-obvious affairs. The people reading it did a capable job, but I couldn’t stay interested enough in the story to spend any more time listening.

Not as good as expected because the lead characters were just not appealing. Also, the story was very slow in developing and made no sense. I have read other books by same author that were MUCH better.

This is a great story with wonderful characters that I have really come to care about. The narrator’s Irish accent is so warm and comfortable to listen to. I am eager to start the next book on the series.
