Story
When a baby - only hours old - is discovered on the Amish bishop's front porch in Painter's Mill, Ohio, Chief of Police Kate Burkholder is called in to investigate. The newborn is swaddled in an Amish crib quilt, and the only other item found with the child is a hand-carved wood rattle, which Kate also recognizes as Amish.

Loved the storyline it was sweet and not as violent as her longer stories. So I loved her ability to tell a different kind of tale.

Story
Romance can be a little complicated when you get sucked into a wormhole. Just ask high school English teacher June Flint. One little solar flare happens and suddenly you find yourself 85 years in the future. Eighty-five years from your dream job. Your ailing mother whose only companion in this world is you. Your favorite stuffed-crust pizza from DeLucia’s on Sunday nights. But when June’s cell phone inexplicably picks up a signal, she’s able to call back to the present—more specifically, four weeks before she accidentally time traveled.

Loved the voices! I realized this reminded me of the radio plays I heard as a kid when our family took road trips. We always left at the crack of dawn and they were the only things on the radio at that time. I’ve loved them ever since then.

Story
The year is 1876. Warring Indian tribes still populate America's western territories, even as lawless gold-rush towns begin to mark the landscape. In much of the country, it is still illegal to espouse evolution. Against this backdrop two monomaniacal paleontologists pillage the Wild West, hunting for dinosaur fossils while surveilling, deceiving, and sabotaging each other in a rivalry that will come to be known as the Bone Wars.

Sometimes the reader gets a little breathy for my liking, so that I get distracted from the storyline.

Story
From the legendary actor and best-selling author: a novel about the making of a star-studded, multimillion-dollar superhero action film...and the humble comic books that inspired it. Funny, touching, and wonderfully thought-provoking, while also capturing the changes in America and American culture since World War II.

Really interesting story. I listened to it twice (as I always do) except when I don’t like the story. This will go on the replay list as a fallback for great books.

Story
Stocking stuffers like handknit scarves make the coziest of Christmas gifts—unless they're used as accessories for murder! When grinchy thefts steal the good cheer at a local nursing home, Siobhan O'Sullivan manages to identify one missing item before the tractor parade—a hideous shamrock scarf wrapped around a very dead body. The festivities go cold at Pans 'N' Pancakes the instant a diner dies while knitting a brilliant green scarf. Suspects pile up when frosty-tempered Carys Walnutt is found strangled by a handmade scarf auctioned at Arborville's tree-lighting ceremony.

I liked these stories and Hanks voice so much I listened to this book THREE times. It’s sweet and mr. Hanns voice is so soothing to listen to I laughed out loud and smiled often . I hope mr. Hanks writes more short stories and maybe even a novel. But, read them yourself that will seal the deal‼️

The darkest and most disturbing case report from the files of Kinsey Millhone, Y begins in 1979, when four teenage boys from an elite private school sexually assault a 14-year-old classmate - and film the attack. Not long after, the tape goes missing, and the suspected thief, a fellow classmate, is murdered. In the investigation that follows, one boy turns state's evidence, and two of his peers are convicted. But the ringleader escapes without a trace.

One of her best‼️‼️

I read this her last book back in 2017 while on a river cruise in Europe. I wasn’t a big fan of the story. I have just finished this whole series “in order” I’ve wanted to do that for a long time and as I was on disability from work and now newly retired I listened to each book, it was wonderful, I gained a new perspective on the stories and really enjoyed spending time in Kinsey Millhone’s world. Now listening to Yesterday I loved all the characters and the storyline, maybe the readers Mary Pheiffer and Judy Kaye bring her stories to life. My favorites are C is for Corpse, S is for Silence and now Y is for Yesterday. It’s truly a shame Sue Grafton died before finishing the series, I would have loved one more trip into her world.
