Sorry... Really? Thrust? Anyway, Danny Kendrick was a down-on-his luck performer who always struggled to find his place. He certainly never wanted to be a hero. He just hoped to earn a living doing what he loved. That all changes when he pisses off the wrong guy and gets sucked into a fantasy realm straight out of a Renaissance Fair. Getting used to a new world is tough. It's even tougher when you're surrounded by axe-wielding barbarians, super hot elf assassins, strange magic, and a jaded System that doesn't appear interested in being charged with yet another companion.

Pathetic main character never grows

The audio is great! The voices and sounds are so good. And the story is pretty good. But the main character is damn pathetic, and he doesn’t get better. I’ve lost interest in what happened to him. I want to know what happens to Cur and the other side characters more. Even the personality of the “Screen” is better. I’m half way through this book and It’s becoming a drag.

Great story. A bit of humor, a bit of action, lots of my kind of snarky-ness. And the narrator is perfect with the details and TONE of real hard things to read/listen about and perfect with the delivery of the funny parts of the book. My new favorite series!

There are a few moments where the characters don’t make decisions that make sense. And the “romance” is dumb. It’s is just there to “be sexy” or whatever. The story has got possibilities, But it’s just frustrating to see the characters do dumb things. And with the characters not communicating well to each other because the story and drama only works if the characters don’t communicate well is really frustrating. The premise / setting is great, but the execution of the story is bad.
