Story
I was supposed to be a Light Guardian. My whole life was mapped out, and I was going to proudly follow my ancestor's footsteps. So why did the Angels reject me? When the time came for me to attend Caelum Academy, my invitation never came. With my dreams in ashes, I was ready to give up, go out on my own, and walk away from my family for good.

Ty and Trys forever
Reviewed: 08-02-24
I forgot how many accents were involved in this book, buy James did a good job. Nia has a great voice, so overall it was a great performance. It sort of highlighted some of the weak areas in the plot but I still love this series. Best of all hearing Ty and Tyrs come to life was as amazing as I thought it would be.

Story
For better or worse… That was the promise Denver and Kensa made, but it’s a sentiment they’ve somehow lost along the way. What started as a passionate wildfire has diminished to a flicker, all but snuffed out by unspoken fears, perceived betrayal, and a complete breakdown in communication. Can either of them tuck their ego away long enough to rekindle their flame?

Hearing vs Listening
Reviewed: 06-10-24
This was a short and sexy read, paired with big emotions and a message on the importance of hearing what someone is saying not what you think they are trying to say. Second chance isn’t my favorite trope so I appreciate that this was short any sweet. The production though was amazing!! A full cast with and integrated narration!! That’s top tier!

Story
Daisy Murray was our best friend, the girl of our dreams, and the glue that held us all together. But our town hosted an evil presence, and it wanted Daisy all for itself. One night, it took her from us, and she was erased from history. On the tenth anniversary of her disappearance, we are summoned home—back to the tainted town—by the ghost of the girl we all loved. It should be impossible, but there's no chance any of us are willing to miss the opportunity to see her again.

The narrator selections were BRILLIANT!! One of the best casting I’ve listened to. As good as the story is, some of it was a lot harder to hear than it was to read. It was dark and depraved. It was twisted and gory. And the actors did an amazing job!

Story
Publicly humiliated, Marisa Banks is blindsided by the news that the man she's been dating for months is married. Being called names she wouldn't wish on anyone in front of a room full of people by her boyfriend's wife is enough to shake her identity to its foundations. In an attempt to rebuild, she makes a few questionable decisions. Asher Blaine is one of them. He's intelligent and sexy, but the pedestal he's got himself up on is unshakeable. Or so he thinks. Marisa asks for the one thing he can't deny her, even if it's the craziest thing he's ever done.

Beautiful Story
Reviewed: 05-01-24
I’m fairly new to audiobooks but apparently it’s a pretty common thing for the voice for the side characters to be…odd. The ones in this one were very noticeable, but overall both narrators when doing the main characters sounded really good. They felt very true to the characters. The story is a favorite and overall hearing this series come to life deepened my love for the stories and appreciation for the author.

This series is amazing the narration and the story are perfection and each book is better than the last. As someone who already loved the books I am amazed how much more I have enjoyed them in audio. The depth of emotion be it joy or sadness is so incredible.

Story
Kyrell Knight believes life is a game to be played and thoroughly enjoyed. He rarely takes anything seriously, lives in the moment, and indulges in as much pleasure with women as possible. But the sarcasm, money, and women are an attempt to erase the memories of his past as he tries to forget what he came from. It works until his past wants to be a part of his present. Kyrell reconnects with Quinn Halifax at their mutual best friend's engagement party. They spark up a friendship that quickly turns to flames when it becomes a superficial, no-strings-attached relationship.

WINSTON JAMES!! 🤯
Reviewed: 02-27-24
Winston James showed his natural born bass with this PERFORMANCE!! I’m a huge Valdez fan, Kyrell Knight was already one of my all time favorite characters. After listening to this I love him even more. There is something special about when a narrator brings a character to life like it is was a personal mission. And iiKane legit brings all the energy and compassion and humor that is Quinn. This is hands down one of the overall best collaborations and both of them made my favorite books even better!

But hearing it brought to life with the depths of Iikane’s rich voice and Winston’s deep soulfulness took it from sweet to off the charts heat. I’m not usually an audiobook fan but this was mesmerizing and very well done.

It was kind of hardcore in the beginning the way Phil talked to Tessa was harsh but I needed a quick audio for a drive and decided to give it another try. It got a little better but Tessa is annoying, the dialogue was repetitive, and don’t know if I missed it or what, but the relationship went from 0 to 100 in like one page. Everything did. It got the job done but I didn’t like like it much

A word

Every time I have experienced a period of crisis of faith or struggled with religion, some book has come into my life that gave me a perspective I deeply needed. Or the words to articulate why I was in crisis and it has happened again. Thanks to a book of the month read and my desire to not be left out. This was a word, a message, a hug, an education, and a catalyst for further growth and research. This is a must read imo, for every Black girl raised in church and then found Black feminism in college. This was informative, witty, and entertaining. Now on to the printed version to annotate the heck out of.

Story
I used to be a sensible, responsible good girl who kept her nose buried in textbooks and worked hard to make her father’s dreams come true. Then Keane happened. He was a crude, rude, ruthless Southie bully who only cared about his hockey career and pucking his way through a string of girls. I hated him and I thought he hated me, but then one unexpected spring break kiss changed everything. Moving across the country to go to med school and eventually marrying Keane’s total opposite seemed like the right things to do at the time.

This book was just wow. I usually can only listen to audiobooks when I drive. But this was so easy to listen to because it was just too freaking good. This woman makes me swoon over emotional abuse and I have no idea what that says about me. I’m sure it just means she’s a phenomenal author. All the spicy aside this was an epic romance and so was Lena’s parenting style and choices. Loved this from start to finish.
