Jeff’s book brought so many messages into my mind. His story is real. Cancer is real. I was intrigued the entire time with hearing his experience medically, his emotions personally and his knowledge professionally, as well as his wisdom. It’s a great story of reflection and is relatable even if cancer isn’t touching your life.

Story
Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

Story
After a decadelong career combating wildfires, Elizabeth has traded in her former life for a quieter one with her husband. Now she works as the local arson investigator in a beautiful, quaint town in the Rockies. But that tranquil life vanishes when she and her husband agree to divorce and a fire in nearby Cooper Basin begins to spread rapidly. For Elizabeth, containing a raging wildfire is easier than accepting that her marriage has failed.

Pleasantly surprised

I can’t remember who recommended this book as it had sat in my library for a long time. The characters became real in my mind and I longed to get back to their story when I was unable to listen. The plot and setting are unique enough although there are some things that are predictable. Overall, an enjoyable read.

Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Surprisingly catchy

I don't read much sci-fi but was pleasantly enthralled in this story. The narrator is great with switching voices and keeping a good pace. There are more f bombs that I care to hear in a story, especially by one character, but other than that, would highly recommend this audio book.

Moriarty is so creative and real

I love all of Moriarty's books! She is such a clever writer and her views on life are so relatable. This book really got me thinking about the need to cherish the memories that we have and how much our experiences in life mold us into who we are... good and bad.
It's also a great look at marriage and how easily the world's distractions (and the stress of rearing children) can derail the dreams of forever. I loved the characters and could identify with their realities.
I highly recommend the narrator, too! She kept me entertained while painting my hallway and stairs.

Story
Harry August is on his deathbed. Again. No matter what he does or the decisions he makes, when death comes, Harry always returns to where he began, a child with all the knowledge of a life he has already lived a dozen times before. Nothing ever changes. Until now. As Harry nears the end of his 11th life, a little girl appears at his bedside. "I nearly missed you, Doctor August", she says. "I need to send a message". This is the story of what Harry does next, and what he did before, and how he tries to save a past he cannot change and a future he cannot allow.

Fascinating!

This story is a fascinating concept of reincarnating as one's self over and over. Harry remembers all of his past lives and studies all sorts of fields. I was a little lost in scientific explanations and conversations, but overall was very entertained by his experiences.
The performance is one of the best I've heard. I'm not sure that I would have enjoyed reading the book as much as I enjoyed hearing it performed in the many voices that Mr Kenny is able to provide. I highly recommend it!
