Story
Shesheshen is a shapeshifter, who happily resides as an amorphous lump at the bottom of a ruined manor. When her rest is interrupted by hunters intent on murdering her, she constructs a body using a metal chain for a backbone, borrowed bones for limbs, and a bear trap as an extra mouth. However, the hunters chase Shesheshen out of her home and off a cliff. Badly hurt, she's found and nursed back to health by Homily, a warmhearted human, who has mistaken Shesheshen as a fellow human

Sapphic, Autistic-coded MC, Unique
Reviewed: 10-09-24
This book is from the unique perspective of a shapeshifter so you get a lot of weird scenes and semi gory details. I loved was that the main character was very relatable for autistic readers because of the way shesheshen sees the world and has a hard time understanding human expression and language. I also didn’t expect it to be a sapphic love story🥹 I can’t say it’s the most awe inspiring book I’ve read but it is unique and special. It isn’t like anything I’ve read before and I loved it. Oh right… the ending was kind of lame to me personally.

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.

Best romance ever. Beautiful writing. Amazing storyline. I couldn’t put this story down. I haven’t finished it yet but I’m so excited to keep reading.

Overall I’m disappointed.

The narration of her sister felt weird because she was made to sound weirdly old, aristocratic and unlikeable which didn’t match the tone she had in the shadows between us.
Also… this was a terrible book… it was hard to get through. The duke was unlikeable for two thirds of the book, the duchess was angry all the time. At least I could follow along and the romance was ok. Scene descriptions were good, no real spice, wish we would have explored the dream stuff more because that was literally never explained.
I HIGHLY recommend the first book because I really loved that one but you should definitely skip this one.
