December 1944, the Pacific Theater. General Douglas MacArthur has vowed to return to the Philippines. He will need the help of Admiral William "Bull" Halsey's Pacific Fleet. But at the height of the invasion, Halsey's ships are blindsided by a typhoon of unprecedented strength and scope. This was an incredible story. Not only is WW2 interesting but throw in a life changing hurricane that challenges every seaman. Death and courage on every page. It makes you wonder what you would do if you found yourself in a similar situation. I was sad when it ended but am glad I now know the story. Highly recommended.

Story
As Russian forces closed in on Berlin and Hitler’s premiership drew to a close, many Nazi officials fled Germany. In this startling, meticulously researched account, acclaimed journalist Uki Goñi unravels the complex network that led them to Argentina. Relying on international support—in Scandinavia, Switzerland, and Italy—and the enthusiasm of the Vatican and President Juan Perón, Goñi shows how this ratline allowed Adolf Eichmann—the architect of the Final Solution—Josef Mengele, Eric Priebke, and many more, into the country.

It’s no wonder you can’t calm down: your to-do list is as long as your arm, your bank balance keeps dropping, you feel guilty for not calling your parents more often and there always seems to be a big deadline to meet at work. You need a serious breather - but you can barely find time to shower, let alone to exercise or meditate.

I learned some very productive things and it helped me clear up a few things that were lingering in my mind as well. Well worth your time.

I’m blown away by this book. Every single thing about it was excellent. I am going back to listen again but this time will take notes. The author clearly knows the industry and shares everything with the reader. The narrator is perfect and I couldn’t have enjoyed his voice more. I’m listening again, taking notes then creating an investment plan myself and will stop paying thousands to an advisor. Please read or listen to this book and share with everyone you care about.

Story
In the winter of 1952, New England was battered by the most brutal nor’easter in years. As the weather wreaked havoc on land, the freezing Atlantic became a wind-whipped zone of peril, setting the stage for one of the most heroic rescue stories ever lived. On February 18, while the storm raged, two oil tankers, the Pendleton and the Fort Mercer, were in the same horrifying predicament. Built with “dirty steel,” and not prepared to withstand such ferocious seas, both tankers split in two, leaving the dozens of men on board utterly at the Atlantic’s mercy.
