Story
It was a blow to Persephone “Percy” Blake’s vanity to discover that she’d somehow become a spinster aunt. It’s certainly not what she set out to be. She had just been working away in her father’s library, cataloging historical documents. Then one day she looked up to find that 10 years had passed and she was firmly on the shelf. Now, with the recent passing of her father, the country estate and the library are long gone.

OK but kinda boring

I like this writer usually, but the two main characters were boring and not interesting as a couple. The woman is not very likable. it had some interesting moments but I didn't finish the last 2 chapters.

Story
Adair Radcliffe is only a child when her family perishes in the War of the Roses, so her real father, the womanizing King Edward IV, takes her in, honoring his promise to her mother. Once Adair turns 16, the king marries her off without her knowledge - and to her later outrage - in a wedding by proxy. But when tragedy leaves her a widow twice over, Adair realizes that her already tenuous social position has sunk even lower. Now, all she can do is hope that the Scottish laird to whom she is sold will have mercy on her. But little does master or servant suspect that love knows no rank.

Started interesting but lost interest by ch 13

I was really liking the story and how the main characters growth and independence. I like the historical facts woven in. it lost me once she got to Scotland. I didn't finish the book. I only got to chapter 13 before I stopped. He wasn't likable and he was childish. I couldn't understand how she loved him over some other characters. He had no depth. He sounded like a good love affair but her true love? it was not believable. I wished I liked the Scot better or I would have finished it. Narrator was good though. Not sure if I will read the rest of the series.
