The MC and side characters are idiots
Reviewed: 06-14-24
unfortunately this author makes the MC and multiple other side characters act like idiots on multiple occasions to progression the story. I hate when main characters who should know better make dumb mistakes, just so the author can force the story into a specific direction.

unfortunately this book loves suffering, it spends wayyyy too much time and too many words to describe constant suffering. I think the author should have cut about an hour from this book or changed some of the writing so that it doesn't start to feel like a waste of words. A tip for future books author, suffering is only effective when applied sparingly otherwise it just becomes depressing and creates an apathy within the reader.
I put the last hour of this book on 2 times speed, I have almost never done that with any of the other 500 audio books I have listened to, unless it was to speed through a litrpg stat sheet. I loved a lot of this book but the last hour and a half are a slog. I don't need to be reminded a THOUSAND TIMES about how hard everything is for the MC. Not to mention I thought of several ways to solve the predicament our MC was in, so it kind of made him look like an idiot and a crybaby, while also feeling like a lack of finesse on the authors part for being unable to find a better writing solution.
I will say that the very end, similar to book 1 leaves me with hope that things will pick up again but it still feels like this book wasted my time a bit. If i get the next book, I hope that the author can reduce some of the self pity. I understand trying to make the main character as human as possible but he whines too much. Oh and one more thing, if that Tag along the MC has now at the end of this book becomes an annoying plot device in the next book, or is used to pad out the dialogue in the next book, it will unfortunately become one of the few books I will have refunded.

Setalite City is on the brink of destruction, famous heroes and infamous villains are being systematically killed worldwide, and an unknown puppet master is pulling the strings. Lucky for him, Loren has all the time in the world to set things straight.

A good first book that has me exited for book 2
Reviewed: 12-09-23
I liked this story quite a bit, it has a few issues like the MC taking a bit too long in accepting what needs to be done to actually achieve his end goals, but overall I ejoyed it. I am not someone who really likes superhero stories but this book did a pretty good job avoiding stupid cliches and most of the characters act like human beings, even if it does take a bit too long to learn their motivations. I think now at the end of this first book, now that the story is in full swing, I am exited for book 2 to release on audible.
I recommend this book to just about anyone who likes Time loops, it has a few weaknesses but is overall really enjoyable.

Decent book, but it has issues
Reviewed: 05-10-23
I loved the first 5 or so hours of this book, but after that, it slows down ALOT and can be boring and predictable at times. I still enjoyed the writing, but the sect stuff was rather tedious and used the same over done cliches many other cultivation books do, but then it picks back up again at around the final 4 hours so its not all bad. I wish the author would have skipped the basic superiority complex crap that many other cultivation stories overuse as a cheap plot device. I think that the next book MIGHT be better based on the ending, so if i get the next book, we shall see.

A devastating attack by the lich Quatach-Ichl has left Zorian and Zach reeling as their remaining restarts tick away. As they recover, they make preparations for their final confrontations with Red Robe, the lich, the primordial being, and the invaders—all within the shadow of a question they can’t answer: can Zorian and Zach both survive outside the time loop? When the time loop is broken, sacrifices will be made, bonds will be tested, and trust will be more important than any magical skill or power—and even then, success is not guaranteed.

Book had potential
Reviewed: 03-15-23
I genuinely loved the idea of this book since I really enjoy mixing sci-fi and fantasy elements. Despite that, almost all of this books potential is wasted because of an excruciatingly slow start, and a main character who does not act the way his age and experience should have him acting.
I just couldn't bring myself to believe he was 500 years old and witnessed the fall of humanity based on his actions. I can understand if he had some PTSD but he gets a second chance at life with new powers and does an awful lot of complaining about having that second chance and the cool new powers. on top of that, the book is SLOW every time things get somewhat interesting, BOOM flashbacks and endless introspection, it becomes extremely frustrating. I am at the half way point and it's hard to decide if finishing this book is worth it simply because many parts of the story are interesting but get bogged down by all the fluff and failure on the authors part to write a convincing reborn character.
RANT SECTION.... why the hell does this author think it makes ANY sense to have a 500 year old character (who experienced many flings/romances in their previous life) get flustered by a pretty 18 year old multiple times as if the MC was 17 for the first time, AND then he blames it on hormones as if hormones remove 500 years of life experience. I HATE when authors have a reborn character act outside their norm and blame it on teen hormones and insert odd romance situations it just makes the MC look weird.

A decent story
Reviewed: 02-26-23
this story is pretty good overall, a bit YA for my taste, and if you have read or listened to more than 25 or so fantasy books, it is rather predictable. I would still recommend giving it a try yourself if you find the summary interesting. just be aware that the MC can be a bit of a "white knight" who somehow understands why everyone does the bad things they do and accepts it as if it is nothing. Sadly, I find these kinds of characters extremely unrealistic and boring they always AlMOST give in to anger like a trillion times but never do because they are the "hero" of the story.
3.5 Stars but I round up since people often see 3 stars as bad on audible.

I absolutely loved this book
Reviewed: 11-15-22
Even though this title has a few issues like echo especially in the beginning it does not diminish the overall amazing narration or story, I mean the narrator even sings at one point and he sings well. I hope that the narrator continues this series because even though there are slip ups here and there he adds to the great writing and helps to bring these character to life even further and I hope to see him narrating even more fantasy books in the future.
This book has genuine and relatable characters to the point that they said things I would have said/thought if I was in a similar situation, these characters have actual Arcs that matter and affect them throughout the story for better or for worse. I also laughed out loud on multiple occasions simply because the banter felt so genuine between everyone even to the point that if it became too mean spirited people would get called out for being an ass.
Without spoiling anything this book overall is an absolute deal it has a great story and is 34 hours of almost constant entertainment that knows when to slow down a little to let the audience process things, while also letting characters learn from mistakes and really showing us that these people are truly in a world they don't understand without making them complete idiots unless it makes sense for them to be idiots in certain situations. In addition the author does a great job of showing how modern sensibilities could help or hinder someone in a world so focused on individual power and how selfish and manipulative the powerful can be if given the chance, even if it means hurting or killing millions and how living a long life and gaining tons of power may not make someone wise it may just cause insanity or extreme detachment towards those whom are weaker.
P.S if the echo in this book throws you off at first it slowly goes away till it is mostly gone at some point later in the book. I am not sure when since the story sucked me in and I forgot about it rather quickly.

the epilogue was stupid
Reviewed: 12-03-20
this book has only a few flaws and that is why it gets 4 stars but I will probably not continue this series because of the utterly stupid epilogue. I hate when an author gets lazy and just gives power to characters that should be DEAD.
I have almost no desire to continue this story knowing that this character will continue to be an antagonist.
