About this listen

Infinite power, infinite danger.

Growing up mortal, I only knew a few things about cultivators. They like their hierarchies, they hate disrespect, and if you leave one out in deep space long enough, they'll go homicidally insane.

It turns out, there's a reason for that. Away from all the gravity wells and biospheres that generate natural energy, things get just quiet enough to notice the infinite ocean of qi entirely incompatible with our own.

I should know. I've seen it.

Only difference is, I didn't go mad. I wasn't a cultivator. Technically, I wasn't even alive.

But now I can sense it. I can touch it.

I can cultivate it.

From the best-selling author of This Trilogy is Broken! and Dungeon Devotee comes the cultivation epic you've been waiting for.

loved the world building hopeful for more. the protagonist feels like I could have a beer with and just listen to him talk. side characters are interesting without pulling to much focus. despite that though they still made me care about um. really looking forward to the next book.

good lead and relatable side characters. villains..ok so far.

Eloquent while grounded, philosophically and linguistically. Great world building—a super foundation for a complex and enjoyable epoch that is easy to read and relate to. Emotionally complex situations are tackled quite boldly.

What a refreshing take on the genre. The main character is believable and makes rational decisions. The side characters and antagonists are all well written. The pacing is fantastic and there is a great mix between the action and down time.

I have read hundreds of sci-fi/fantasy books and I would put this near the top of them all. I enjoy cultivation books but find that they either get lost in the power creep and go off the rails or spend so much time talking about the philosophy of the cultivation that it makes it really drag on. This book/series doesn't suffer from either of those issues. The cultivation and meditation sections of the book don't feel bloated and unnecessary. The MC gains power and is strong without it being over the top. It is a truly well written cultivation series with a fleshed out world with so many characters that all have their own lives and agendas.

I am coming back after finishing the second book of the series which was just as good as the first!

Incredible Series

You feel like you’re in the world. And it’s a world made of poetry. What a shock for a cultivation novel.

Just wow. A from a surprising source

This book is a great cultivation story, although that's mostly because of the characterizations and interactions. The setting (sci-fi cultivation) is done well and gives a fresh take on sects, and the main character's Way of cultivating nihilism is pretty interesting. Great narration and prose make this quite an enjoyable ride. The ending is a bit off, but not by much, and I will certainly be returning for the sequel.

I recommend this book.

Good Cultivation, Better Characters

I'm not really into cultivation mostly due to not understanding what it is or how it works but it's explained really well. not finished with the book yet but I'm impressed enough to leave a review. also the narrative is awsome. he uses good sound effects that helps with emerson.

I say a recommendation somewhere saying the space is a great place for a cultivation story, and they were wrong. Loved the book and am excited for the next!
