Story
The inspiring, unlikely, laugh-out-loud story of how one woman learned to lead - and how she ultimately succeeded, not despite her many mistakes, but because of them. This is the story of how Kristen Hadeed built Student Maid, a cleaning company where people are happy, loyal, productive, and empowered, even while they're mopping floors and scrubbing toilets.

Thank you for this book

This book made me feel better about the fact that I don’t know everything and that some things are trial and error in running a business. I am on track with many things though, based on the author’s story. I would recommend this book to any entrepreneur who is getting frustrated with the never ending job of growing their business and just needing to feel like they are not alone.

Story
A business parable about how to create a start-up that won't trap you when you want to sell it. According to John Warrillow, the number one mistake entrepreneurs make is to build a business that relies too heavily on them. Thus, when the time comes to sell, buyers aren't confident that the company-even if it's profitable-can stand on its own. To illustrate this, Warrillow introduces us to a fictional small business owner named Alex who is struggling to sell his advertising agency.

Like gold

This is a golden tool. I lived the story, tips, direction, and insight. This is a must read by anyone looking to grow, even if you don't want to sell. It has helped me understand how to focus my business better. I read it in 1 1/2 days give or take other obligations. The narrator was kind of awkward at first and the way he spoke was somewhat distracting. I will be honest that I laughed the whole first chapter. Please don't let that discourage you from listening because you'll miss as the total benefits of the book. After a chapter or so you'll get used to it. I highly recommend

Story
In Pushback, top leadership consultant Selena Rezvani argues that self-advocacy is critical to success. Yet women initiate negotiations four times less often than men, resulting in getting less of what they want - promotion opportunities, plum assignments, and higher pay. This book shines a light on the real rules of holding your own and pushing back for what is rightfully yours. Drawing on interviews with high-level leaders, Rezvani offers listeners the truth about how women have asked their way to the top.

Not for me
Reviewed: 07-14-17
I've listened to the first three chapters but she hasn't really said anything or maybe just nothing to make me understand the purpose of this book. I'm returning it. The reader is also very dry and does not help the cause.

Lots of little nuggets
Reviewed: 07-14-17
I loved this because because she gave lots of practical tips and nuggets to go to the next level. She spent quite a bit of time discussing fundraising. Before I finished this book it gave me the drive and energy to renew my love for my business and see a way out from feeling so overwhelmed with everything. Highly recommend for any female entrepreneur

Story
Kristin Newman spent her 20s and 30s dealing with the stresses of her high-pressure job as a television comedy writer, and the anxieties of watching most of her friends get married and start families while she wrestled with her own fear of both. Not ready to settle down and yet loathe to become a sad-sack single girl, Kristin instead started traveling the world, often alone, for a few months each year, falling madly in love with attractive locals who provided moments of the love she wanted without the cost of the freedom she needed.

Kristin's memoir was funny, witty, entertaining, and inspiring. It was also somewhat enlightening. It's nice to hear an author narrate their own story. It had a very cute ending!

Good book with somewhat robotic sounding narrator
Reviewed: 08-03-16
I loved the content and it's great for therapist use. It was difficult to listen to this narrator. It was similar to listening to Siri trying to narrate a book which is the reason I left off one star overall
