Story
If there is one thing you needed to know about me it is this: I hate vampires. They are useless, soul-sucking monsters that destroy everything in their path, even my own family. I joined The Order and became a vampire hunter for revenge, but I never would have guessed that my job would entail baby-sitting the vampire heir to the most powerful clan in the world. And if she thought I was going to break like the other hunters she has been through... she has another thing coming to her.

A hate read that I loved and hated... ugh

I hate Keir to my soul. But I loved Sil ... at least when she wasn't with Keir. The complete definition of love (or Lust) makes you blind and stupid. She went through so much and deserved more from the people around her and every time she proved she only had herself to rely on, but kept expecting better from others. I hated that for and from her.

He was a bit to controlling and aggressive considering her past. I didn't like that. It seemed like she felt threatened by him a lot and gave in because of her past.

It was the perfect blend of romance and fantasy. There is spice but it's perfectly placed to be a needed part of the story. A necessary outcome if you will 😋🥵🔥. I loved the world building and character progression. I already gave a credit to number 2. 😘

Story
Investigative journalist Laura Chambers is back in her tiny hometown of Hillsborough, North Carolina, the one place she swore never to return. Fired from The Boston Globe, her career in shambles, she reluctantly takes a job with the local paper. The work is simple, unimportant, and worst of all, boring - at least until a missing girl turns up dead, the body impeccably clean, dressed to be the picture of innocence. Years earlier, 10-year-old Patty Finch left home and never made it back. But for the people of Hillsborough, Patty was just the beginning.

It could have been better. It was readable. Nice premise but the main character didn't seem to be very smart.

Kind of predictable. But a cute story none the less. Wish the sex scenes where more varied and steamy.
