About this listen

From Elle Mae comes a steamy enemies-to-lovers vampire romance between a hunter and a vampire.

Silvia

If there is one thing you needed to know about me it is this:

I hate vampires.

They are useless, soul-sucking monsters that destroy everything in their path, even my own family.

I joined The Order and became a vampire hunter for revenge, but I never would have guessed that my job would entail baby-sitting the vampire heir to the most powerful clan in the world.

And if she thought I was going to break like the other hunters she has been through... she has another thing coming to her.

Keir

I hate hunters... but I hate my prick of a father even more after I learned that he had worked with the Order to get one to guard me at all hours of the day.

Even after I had been through all of The Order’s top hunters, they still insisted on sending one more.

It was useless though, they would all break eventually.

Whether it was sex, money, or power none of them could resist the temptation, even if it meant breaking our contract.

And I couldn’t wait to prove The Order and my father wrong.

So what will your vice be, little hunter?

I loved how she brought each character to life and this was a gripping lesbian romance with some mild ass kicking

The reader really put heart into this story

one of the best book that I've read that has fantasy and romance. it makes you truly understand both sides and why they are doing what they are doing.

seriously jaw dropping

Awesome world building and genuinely gripping story! I stayed up way too late finishing this and will now get like 2 hours of sleep but it’s so worth it. Well written characters! This is what I’ve been looking for in a lesbian romance !!

Amazing writing

Star one for a classic enemies to lovers trope.
Star two for complex inner turmoil and character development.
Star three for wonderful fantasy world building.
Star four for taking my own heartstrings and playing them like a marionette.
Star five for a beautiful amount of enticing lesbian smut that somehow also felt like a slow burn romance.

I had originally put this book down during the first chapter because of the author’s style to sometimes be redundant in her descriptions. I’m glad I picked the book back up, because all my preconceived notions of what I was listening to vanished quickly.

I love stories with strong flawed characters who undergo development because of the events they are placed in. I want a character’s world turned upside down. This book has that in spades.

I am also always at war with my own desires for a slow burn romance and intense passionate smut. The enemies to lovers trope never seems to fail with sating this portion of my appetite, as characters often find themselves driven by lust as it slowly converts to something more.

I will warn anyone who dives into this story that it will not deliver a simple lesbian vampire romance via a neat box topped with a crimson velvet bow. It is messy and dripping with anticipation. I can’t wait to see what book 2 has in store.

Five stars all the way

I liked a lot of this but the main character, Sylvia, is really annoying. good story, enjoyable take on vampires and overall very compelling. I just don't like Sylvia. I'm hoping the second book changes my thoughts about her.

pretty good. the vampires are really interesting

Amazing! I loved it. The only thing that I questioned was why the narrator changed the pronunciation of Keir's name towards the end. 10 out of 10 overall!

I can't wait for book #2!

the narration and moments had me so hooked I breezed through it so fast I'm excited for the next book. Perfect levels of spice and the buildup on the characters felt very natural and not rushed

storytelling is amazing

I went into this book excitedly, with high reviews, a fanbase on TikTok, and available as an audiobook. All the right reasons to start it. There was a brief moment leading toward the middle that slowed down some for me causing me to give my attention to another series I had been wanting to start but I'm really happy I came back to it. I was afraid the story would drag on too long without any action. I mean literal action not just "action". Since I went into this story with some assumptions. But it did not drag on too long, I think I was just being a little impatient. When I went back to it after my little break, I just finished it. It was that entertaining once I picked it back up. I finished it in one go right after and when I tell you I audibly gasped at the final chapter. Loved it. Immediately ordered the physical title of this book and the following title in physical and audiobook format (I like my book trophies when I'm done with my audiobooks). Hoping her other book set in the same world, Eternal Captive is just as good as this one, I'll be reading that one next.

Also, the performance from Dana Dae was phenomenal, I will be looking for more books read by her. I could feel the emotions and I loved her versatile voices for the characters, I could tell who was talking at all times. Her quick expression changes were amazing and on point as well.

Readers preformance really made this as one a fav.
