A Standout In The Series!
Reviewed: 03-04-24
This one is probably one of the best ones yet. These last few books have been incredible, but I loved the respect, honor and love that this pair showed to each other. Aden and Zaira are the embodiment of love combined with loyalty and the deepest bonds of friendship and faith in each other. The way the background events that have played out with the three races, and the previous couples stories still continue to grow and develop, is some of the best writing in this genre. Hats off to Nalini Singh!

This volume in the Skolian saga is truly a masterpiece! Asaro gives us heroes, villains and anti-heroes of great depth and complexity, a compelling storyline, beautiful prose and character development, set against the dark intrigues of the Eubian/Trader empire, as her protagonists wrestle with questions of morality, opposing values, war, peace and humanity.

This is seriously one of the best paranormal romance series I have ever read! K.F. Breene does it all so effortlessly, strong characters that you love, ones you love to hate, action, and comedy all mixed with sexy love stories. She is an incomparable talent in the genre and I will be one small voice of many giving her well-deserved flowers! 🌹🌹 🌹

Story
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Or does it? Okay, let me explain. I broke into my crush’s dressing room to sniff his tights (not in a pervy way, I swear!) and got busted while, um... you get the idea. He then kind of, sort of blackmailed me into agreeing to a fake green card marriage with him. But hey, I’m not complaining. Next thing I know, we’re on a flight to Vegas to make our friends and family think we had a crazy drunken night and, in the spur of the moment, tied the knot. Except… that’s exactly what happens.

Cute, Charming and Pretty Funny
Reviewed: 08-25-22
I thought the premise was original and I was thoroughly amused by the raunchy, yet quirky antics of the heroine. Also the hero isn't your run-of-the-mill neanderthal type. Read it when you need a lighthearted pick-me-up.

Story
Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

When did the romance start???
Reviewed: 06-27-22
So I felt it was an entertaining story with an interesting premise, but the pacing of the romance of the two protagonists was pretty ridiculous. It went from 0 to literally 60 in a scene that was neither romantic nor made sense for the escalation of the sex scene that followed. I'm an avid romance and erotica reader, and the way the writer bull-dozed into their first romantic scene felt pointless and wasn't sexy at all. Maybe there was a chunk of book that was left out accidentally to explain what happened???

Story
One of the most extraordinary literary documents to have emerged from the Soviet Union, this is the story of labor camp inmate Ivan Denisovich Shukhov and his struggle to maintain his dignity in the face of Communist oppression. Based on the author’s own experience in the gulags, where he spent nearly a decade as punishment for making derogatory remarks against Stalin, the novel is an unforgettable portrait of the entire world of Stalin’s forced work camps.

This book always has a place deep in my heart. This is the second time I've read it and it impacted me just as much now as then many years ago. It shows the indomitable will of the human spirit to not only survive but to thrive in the harshest of conditions. I found that the amount of gratitude and appreciation that the main character in the novel showed toward even the smallest things in his life to be incredibly touching. Read this book. It is an enduring, existential classic!

Story
I am Meredith, princess of faerie, wielder of the hands of Flesh and Blood, and at long last, I am with child - twins, fathered by my royal guard. Though my uncle, Taranis, King of Light and Illusion, claims that he is the true father since he abducted me from my home, betrayed, and defiled me. And now he has branded my guards as a threat to my unborn children. Bearing an heir has placed me halfway to my aunt’s throne, that much closer to my reign over the Unseelie Court - and well ahead of her son, my cousin Cel, in this race.

"All it would take was my true name being mentioned after dark, and it would float back to my aunt. She was the Queen of Air and Darkness, and that meant that anything said in the dark was hers to hear, eventually. The fact that spotting the missing Elven American Princess had become more popular than spotting Elvis helped."
