Story
Shy, skittish Rose Christner is more comfortable tending to the beehives on the family farm and keeping her aunt's unruly cats in line than attending social gatherings with the rest of the die youngie. A childhood trauma and secret shame keep her heart under lock and key, and Rose just cannot accept the sweet attention she's receiving from a handsome neighbor. But the more she shies away from Josiah Yoder, the more their families sneakily plot to bring them together.

A little less sex and a little more story would have made this a better book. There seem to be too many bits and pieces that perhaps could have been made into a series of books about this couple.

great narrator
Reviewed: 02-02-23
I really enjoyed that narrator andvisibility to do a lot of different voices well. There was a lot of background noise that sounded like there was a room full of people. Mostly the problem I had with this book was although I read it and read it and re read it I still don't get the criminal activity aspect of it. I never understood who the bad guys were and why.

He's celebrating a deal that will surely make him partner when a bizarre, unexpected biblical vision at a party changes everything. Hard as he tries to forget what he saw, this disturbing sign is only the first of many Jonah will witness, and before long his life is unrecognizable.
