This 2nd installment in the magical series is as good as, or even better than, the 1st! I plan to keep following this series. The only thing wrong with this series so far is that the books aren't long enough!

I love the characters. The author has a knack for bringing her characters to life. I love that she writes as though magic is an everyday thing and really does exist. I think we all need a little bit of magic in our lives. I'm looking forward to 'reading' more about this magical town and it's characters.
I totally love Johanna Parker's reading. In fact, I found this series by doing a search for Johanna Parker. Her southern charm really makes this book shine!

There's a reason We Are Legion was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit! Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure. The first item on his to-do list: Spending his newfound windfall. On an urge to splurge, he signs up to have his head cryogenically preserved in case of death. Then he gets himself killed crossing the street. Waking up 117 years later, Bob discovers his mind has been uploaded into a sentient space probe with the ability to replicate itself.

That's what Bob Johansson wants to know when he 'wakes up' after the car hit him. Along with - What the heck is a guppy interface???
When he invested in a cryogenics firm to have his brain preserved in case of accident, little did he know that he would wake up 117 years later . . . as an AI for an interstellar probe!!
Dennis Taylor brings us a futuristic tale that while it answers a few questions on what might happen, it poses a whole different set of questions.
I have a short list of favorite narrators and Ray Porter is very near the top of that list! He brings Bob Johannson to life.
A great story, fantastic reader, humor and TONS of food for thought!

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

When I first picked up the written book I was hooked.
I think it took maybe 1 day for me to read it. And then I read it again, and again. I have always loved losing myself in books. And then I found the audiobook! OMG!
Young Harry comes from such an oppressive 'home' - if home is where the heart is, then his was not a home. It makes you want to come to his rescue! Then to see him start to realize that he really does have a place where he belongs, is something that never gets old!
Jim Dale has a wonderful voice. I could listen to him read a phone book! I have a list of narrators that I truly love listening to and his name is very near the top. His inflection and his use of different 'voices' for the different characters is flawless.

Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake. So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave? Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.

Another Peter Clines Winner!

I have listened to several of Peter Clines books thru audible. His books seem at first like they are just a good story. But then you realize there is something there that requires a lot more thought.
This book makes you think a lot about the age old question "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?"
Ray Porter is an excellent narrator. He reads the books as if he is more of a story teller instead of a narrator.

What made the experience of listening to Not Alone the most enjoyable?
Very few books that I've listened to have inspired me to write a review immediately upon finishing them. This one was just so different!
What other book might you compare Not Alone to and why?
I started this book because I was intrigued by the title. I am one of those people who believes that intelligent life outside of our planet IS a possibility. I have read / listened to many books on this subject but no single other book comes to mind that more fully explores that possibility.
Which scene was your favorite?
I don't want to give away any plot twists but I can say that up until maybe the last few hours of this book I was seriously thinking of just moving along to the next book. But then IT happened!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
At the end of this book I was feeling overall joy in the possibility that maybe we are NOT ALONE!
Any additional comments?
Anyone listening to this book, please be patient. Wait for the surprising reveal towards the end.

What did you love best about Trouble in Mudbug?
I personally have never had reason to believe in ghosts but if I ever do I hope they are as interesting as Helena!
What did you like best about this story?
I love the light hearted approach to ghosts. I've had enough of the horror stories about how ghosts can wreak havoc.
What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?
I love the way she narrates a book like she is actually TELLING a story and not just reading words from a page.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Move over Patrick Swayze, there's a new ghost in town!

The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

If you could sum up The Fold in three words, what would they be?
Awesome
Unexpected
Imaginative
What other book might you compare The Fold to and why?
I really can't think of another book that I might compare to this one. It uses current known technology, while still bringing a level of fantasy into play.
What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ray Porter gives personality to the characters. He uses different voices for the different characters. And although it's difficult to describe, I would say he brings their personalities to life. He makes them seem like real people.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Although it was a fantastic book, I was not tempted to listen to in all in one sitting. I wanted to listen to some of it and then take some time away to 'digest' the story before continuing.
Any additional comments?
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for something with a somewhat thriller aspect, as well as a science fiction aspect.

Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to "go into the light." But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e., murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

Would you listen to First Grave on the Right again? Why?
I love the story and the reader is fantastic. I have listened several times and would listen many more times.
What did you like best about this story?
This book is not the run of the mill fantasy like so many I've listened to recently. Darynda Jones has a unique character in Charlie Davidson and she develops this character in subsequent books in the series.
What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?
This reader isn't just reading words on a page. She's telling a story! She uses different 'voices' for the different characters so that you know immediately which character is speaking.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
