Story
In 1177 B.C., marauding groups known only as the "Sea Peoples" invaded Egypt. The pharaoh’s army and navy managed to defeat them, but the victory so weakened Egypt that it soon slid into decline, as did most of the surrounding civilizations. After centuries of brilliance, the civilized world of the Bronze Age came to an abrupt and cataclysmic end. Kingdoms fell like dominoes over the course of just a few decades. No more Minoans or Mycenaeans. No more Trojans, Hittites, or Babylonians.

This book takes you through the major events leading to the collapse. Covering all areas from Egypt, to the Aegean to the Levant and other Mesopotamia areas.
As with everything else, multiple factors are most likely at play when it came to the collapse. This book does a good job trying to cover all these factors.

Story
A Pocket History of Human Evolution brings us up-to-date on the exploits of all our ancient relatives. Paleoanthropologist Silvana Condemi and science journalist François Savatier consider what accelerated our evolution: Was it tools, our "large" brains, language, empathy, or something else entirely? And why are we the sole survivors among many early bipedal humans? Their conclusions reveal the various ways ancient humans live on today - from gossip as modern "grooming" to our gendered division of labor - and what the future might hold for our strange and unique species.

Story
The early history of our planet covers such vast stretches of time that years, centuries, and even millennia become virtually meaningless. Instead paleontologists and scientists who study geochronology divide time into periods and eras. The current view of science is that planet Earth is around 4.6 billion years old. The first four billion years of its development are known as the Precambrian period. For the first billion years or so, there was no life in Earth. Then the first single-celled life-forms, early bacteria and algae, began to emerge.

Atlantis: The Antediluvian World was published in 1882 by the Minnesotan author Ignatius L. Donnelly. He argues that all known ancient civilizations were descended from this lost land which once existed in the Atlantic Ocean, opposite the Mediterranean Sea. The author claimed that the description of this island given by Plato is not fable, but veritable history.

Information was clear and easy to digest. I know many people and current scientists and anthropologist scoff at the ideas of Atlantis but after listening to this book. It makes a good argument. I feel there is much we don't know...or have forgotten about ourselves. it is just nice to hear different ideas I suppose.
Performance from the narrator was great! Has such a wide range of accents!

If you like alternate theories on how we came to be, this book is for you. I don't feel like it is woo woo either like many have suggested this book is. Since this is written in the 70's standard model theories of science have updated but I think only aide in this hypothesis of how homo sapien came to be.
There are some plot holes I have questions on, however. These questions may be covered in the other books of this chronicle. Which I have still not listen to yet.
Entertaining and thought provoking at the end of the day.
