Story
An orphan’s life is harsh - and often short - in the mysterious island city of Camorr. But young Locke Lamora dodges death and slavery, becoming a thief under the tutelage of a gifted con artist. As leader of the band of light-fingered brothers known as the Gentleman Bastards, Locke is soon infamous, fooling even the underworld’s most feared ruler. But in the shadows lurks someone still more ambitious and deadly. Faced with a bloody coup that threatens to destroy everyone and everything that holds meaning in his mercenary life, Locke vows to beat the enemy at his own brutal game.

I read this book well over 10 years ago. Hearing this narration was great. The images conjured in my head were just as vivid listening as when I read it.

Story
Settle down with a mince pie and a small sherry and prepare for an unlikely combination of Flying Auctions, Fabergé eggs, duped Time Police officers, the Parish Council, a TWOCed Bentley (no, not that one), legendary swords and a belligerent ram. Will it be peace and goodwill to all men? Well, we all know the answer to that....

Zara Ramm does such a great job narrating these books. This just has some fun and funny moments. Including the inclusion of gardening day.

Story
After five hectic years of retirement from Lord's Chapel, Father Tim Kavanagh returns with his wife, Cynthia, from a so-called pleasure trip to the land of his Irish ancestors. While glad to be at home in Mitford, something is definitely missing: a pulpit. But when he's offered one, he decides he doesn't want it. Maybe he's lost his passion. His adopted son, Dooley, wrestles with his own passion - for the beautiful and gifted Lace Turner, and his vision to become a successful country vet.

I’m not sure why two of the books were not read by John McDonough but it was great to hear him read this. The two books were fine just jarring after hearing him read all the others

I really love this story but technically there are issues with this. The volume goes up and down and there is static in parts.

Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few. Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop students with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes.

What seems a straight forward story, twists and turns to the point you don’t want to stop listening. Aimee Horne’s narration is excellent, having this one of my originals this month, it was her narration that kept me listening at first. However, the book slowly picked up in tempo and the twists and turns were not that predictable. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this story. Having it performed like a radio show made it come to life. You could believe that the characters were real. It’s not extremely long but it captured. My attention.
