This was not for me, usually an epic fantasy reader. Did not hold my attention and couldn’t sink into it.

Story
Mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate, Curran, the Beast Lord, are struggling to solve a heartbreaking crisis. Unable to control their beasts, many of the Pack’s shape-shifting children fail to survive to adulthood. While there is a medicine that can help, the secret to its making is closely guarded by the European packs, and there’s little available in Atlanta. Kate can’t bear to watch innocents suffer, but the solution she and Curran have found threatens to be even more painful. The European shape-shifters who once outmaneuvered the Beast Lord have asked him to arbitrate a dispute - and they’ll pay him in medicine.

If you could sum up Ship of Magic in three words, what would they be?
Slow start
What did you like best about this story?
The story starts slow-just like the farseer books, but eventually you get engrossed in the characters.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Narration left a lot to be desired-strange interpretations of many story points (too dramatic, or sad when the story was happy). An interesting accent as well-distracting for at least the first few minutes of any listen.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Nothing extreme

Story
Prince Roger MacClintock, Tertiary Heir to the Throne of Man, was a spoiled rotten, arrogant, whiny, thoroughly useless young pain in the butt. But that was before an assassination attempt marooned the Royal Brat and his bodyguards on the planet Marduk, and before they had to march half way around the entire planet, through 120-degree heat and five-hour rainstorms in jungles full of damnbeasts, capetoads, killerpillars, and atul-grak, not to mention hostile peoples, to make their way back to port.

Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

Where does The Alloy of Law rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?
Alloy of Law is somewhere in the high middle of the books I've listened to. It's great, but not anything mind blowing.
What did you like best about this story?
Great to see the mistborn world return!
Which scene was your favorite?
The opening wild west scene is very memorable!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
As with all Brandon Sanderson there are some slow parts.
Any additional comments?
It was totally interesting to see the mistborn world apply to progressing technology and the evolution of the society created in the first trilogy.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Convoluted at the beginning, but it draws you in
Reviewed: 02-23-11
The writing is great (and come a long way from Elantris), the beginning is a little confusing as it's a new world and no introduction to it is given other than learning about the characters and the rules as they apply to their situations. I can't wait for the next one!
