Story
Between taking night classes for her MBA and her demanding day job at a cruise line, marketing manager Henley Evans barely has time for herself, let alone family, friends, or dating. But when she’s short-listed for the promotion of her dreams, all her sacrifices finally seem worth it. The only problem? Graeme Crawford-Collins, the remote social media manager and the bane of her existence, is also up for the position. Although they’ve never met in person, their epic email battles are the stuff of office legend.

Meh, just ok
Reviewed: 08-16-23
The audio quality is not good. As a result I needed to listen at a much higher volume. This made the narration worse than I think it ordinarily would have been. The story is not funny, romantic, or believable in any way. The spice level is a 1. I guess the value is on the eco/green aspect? At least it was short, so a quick listen. I would not recommend.

Story
I see dead people. No, not like that movie. I’m a coroner, and yes it's the kiss of death on my dating life. When men find out what I do, I'm lucky to hear, “It was nice meeting you”. Until I almost accidentally kill Blake Hale with my car. Instead of being freaked out by me, he’s intrigued. No matter how much I try to scare him off, he keeps coming back for more. And for a follow-the-rules guy, he’s breaking them all for me.

This was very 'meh' across the board
Reviewed: 08-08-23
I have listened to so many rom coms and tend to like most of them. For some reason I never got into this one. I'm surprised the negative reviews give the narration 5 stars. She is better than he, but neither do a good job of bringing the characters to life. The sex scenes are gag worthy. I like my romance a little smutty, instead of fade to black, but this book had me wishing for fade to black! I'm not sure if it was the writing or the narration, but I kept wishing it was over! 2 stars covered in Velveta - sooo cheesy

Story
Layla Dupree has given up on love. She’s waded through all of the fish in the sea, each one more disappointing than the last. Apparently owning the bakery at Inglewild’s most romantic destination does not help one’s love life—despite her best efforts. All she wants is a partner who gives her butterflies, not someone who ghosts her at dinner and leaves her with the check. Good thing Caleb Alvarez has the perfect solution. After saving Layla from another date gone bad, he has a simple proposition: one month of no-strings dating.

Least favorite of the series
Reviewed: 03-18-23
Of the three, this is my least favorite. The story is contrived and loaded with self doubt. Self doubt that gets obnoxiously interruptive to the flow. Narration is similar to the other 2 books. Wanted to love it, but it’s just ok.

Story
A pasture of dead trees, a hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons, and shipments that have mysteriously gone missing—Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams. In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, she enters a contest with instafamous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, she might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem.

Narration almost killed it for me
Reviewed: 02-10-23
It took me a while to get past the narration. It was not good for me. The story is cute enough, although the main character is overly helpless in making decisions around love. Would not recommend.

Julia Whelan is great as always, but the main character is a bit much for me. The complete and utter unrelenting divorce breakdown seemed over the top throughout, but there are definitely some laughs. It was just ok for me.

Riley Thorn and her hot tattooed private investigator boyfriend are all moved in to their new fixer-upper. Not only do they finally have their own place they also haven’t found any new dead bodies on the premises. Yep. It looks like summer is over, and so is Riley’s bad luck. Or is it? While Nick gives up sleeping and showering to obsess over the cold case that still haunts him, his business partner Mrs. Penny is calling the investigative shots. It’s every bit as bad as you can imagine.

Story
Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled—until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either....

There are some cute moments in this one, but it is very predictable early on and frustrating that it isn’t resolved earlier. It’s all too basic.

Story
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Story
In December 2017 the famous porn star August Ames committed suicide in a park in the Conejo Valley. It happened a day after she’d been the victim of a pile-on, via Twitter, by fellow porn professionals - punishment for her tweeting something deemed homophobic. A month later, August’s husband, Kevin, connected with Jon Ronson to tell the story of how Twitter bullying killed his wife. What neither Kevin nor Ronson realized was that Ronson would soon hear rumors and secrets hinting at a very different story - something mysterious and unexpected and terrible.
