About this listen

I see dead people.
No, not like that movie.

I’m a coroner, and yes it's the kiss of death on my dating life. When men find out what I do, I'm lucky to hear, “It was nice meeting you”.

Until I almost accidentally kill Blake Hale with my car.
Instead of being freaked out by me, he’s intrigued.
No matter how much I try to scare him off, he keeps coming back for more.
And for a follow-the-rules guy, he’s breaking them all for me.

We couldn’t be more different.
He’s all goodness and light, with a brain that’s even sexier than his six pack.
I’m danger in a pretty package, and no amount of knocking on wood is going to make the happily ever after he’s promising come true. But....

With each word we exchange, my resolve weakens.
With each heated look, he gets further into my soul.
With every kiss, he consumes me by accepting me just as I am.

I deal in death all day. He sells life...insurance. What could possibly go wrong when I start believing in Mr. Right?

Drop Dead Gorgeous is a full-length meet-cute romance...with a twist! It is a stand-alone.

Wow-- the love scene narration!

if you thought Dark Shades of Grey was good, you're going to get hot and bothered by the narration in this book. Oh, yes it has a great story line, too.

Lame

I got as far as chapter 6. Seeing the scheme of this book being set in such a ridiculous way killed it for me. Ick.

A drop dead fantastic story in more ways then one

What can I say about Lauren Landish. She always blows your mind with her stories. This one is another hit with her Rom Com .
This one will have you laughing out load with some of the scenes.
Hero is Blake. Heroine is Zoey.

Zoey and Blake meet when Zoey hit Blake’s car. Blake is taken with Zoeys beauty. Only thing is Zoey gives him no mind. He tries everything. Blake doesn’t give up easily. The whole town things that Zoey is weird that they think that proves it. Another reason is because she’s County's Coroner. After a few tries when Zoe sees that Blake won’t give up that totally throws her off . The story is Well written and leaves you wanting more! Narration was very well done, the story line flows smoothly and I love that
Both Characters are so different from each other which makes you wonder what’s next . This story has it all , a Rom com , Suspense, what more do you need .

The performance of Charley Ongel and Tor Thom was fantastic. They brought the story to life . The tone of each character was spot on . They work great together

Tor Thom was great

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS was fun and I enjoyed it (I loved Blake) but it hasn’t claimed a spot among my favorites. I needed Zoey to become stronger and more confident sooner. Tor Thom did a great job with Blake’s character.

Not so sure...

Landish is a “new to me” author. I was excited to get started on this book based on the premise and high ratings/reviews of this new release. Parts of the story were very cute and I found myself grinning on multiple occasions. However, the large degree of dark/off-cuff/death humor got old pretty fast. Some of it was funny but...overkill. There was one joke about teenagers with depression that I found really offensive. Also, the general outlandishness of the storyline made it unbelievable and un-relatable. Blake, the H, was my favorite character yet the description of him of as an alpha male wearing khakis and driving a sensible sedan wasn’t all that enticing 🤷‍♀️ The unsolved mystery was what really kept me reading. The narration was well-done (and oh how I love a duet/dual narration)! I would not have purchased this book in hindsight but who knows, maybe this is your jam! Three star story for me, being generous. Will not purchase another book from this author.

Ridiculously bonkers … and I loved it!

If you’re looking for cozy and cute, this ain’t it. This author 1) does sassy, fun romance with plots that push the eye-roll envelope, 2) has a willingness to throw down F-bombs for frequent effect, and 3) gives nooky that’s both naughty and nice.

The duet narration here has Thom narrating all male parts, even during the her-POV chapters, and vice versa, giving this a scripted audio feel. This book gives great, mouthy Along Came Polly or Pitch Perfect side-eye humor. Perfect as a pulpy matinee listen.

Similar books I recommend:
The Mother Road by Meghan Quinn
Jed Had to Die by Tara Sivec
Act Your Age Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert (this one even has the same humor of him getting hit by a car)

Life Dates Death

Zoey, who is a coroner/medical examiner, has a car accident with a guy that works with insurance claims. People in town (even though she is beautiful) don’t want anything to do with her since she deals with dead bodies. Even Zoey refrains from relationships (thinking she has juju). They work on a case together. Zoey questions foul play and thinks a man was poisoned. This becomes of interest to the insurance claims adjuster knowing that the deceased wife is wanting money from her husband’s life insurance. The claims adjuster and Zoey fall in love. There are a few descriptive sex scenes. And then Zoey disappears. Clever story. Keeps your interest. Great narration

Cute story!

At first I didn’t like the main characters but as the story progressed they started to grow on me. By the end I loved it. So much so, I listed to the book again.
