Narration, well done.
Writing was also well done but I don’t know. The world building was good. It was just missing something. I found myself day dreaming instead of listening too much. There were also times I had to convince myself to turn it back on so I didn’t waste the credit. Teenagers might love this 🤷🏻♀️.

I have liked this series from the start but there were some turn offs. At first the writing would sometimes get repetitive especially around the runner. The teller has adapted overtime and the story just flows now. Super easy listen and you feel for the characters. You never feel like you’re slogging through it. By book 12 the author is a real pro. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Enjoyed the first book and wanted to come see what #2 had to offer.
The main character grated on me. She started off strong and was this bad ass and just got so….. sooooo… what’s the word I want….. whiny? Maybe?
Anywho, it felt like I had to slog through this one since I used a credit.
Also, why the narrator chose that tone for her is a mystery. Just played into the whiny view. The narrator is a good reader and had good inflection.
Overall, it just missed the mark.

Overall I really liked this book. Enough to finish it in less than 72 hours and had a bit of a book hang over when it was done.
Super easy listen. One of those you don’t have to try to pay attention. Personally liked the main character. I appreciate her “flaws” and tenacity.
Is it not one of the “greats” for me. I feel like I have seen similar stories and plot twists before but the story telling is good enough I didnt mind. Likewise some of the steamy stuff is a tiny bit cringe and over the top but I’ll tell ya, it made my other half look real good for a few days 😜.
Lastly, for the narration. The person did a great job feeling and acting I thought. It does feel like either the narrator or production person are new though. I could tell when there were breaks, cuts, and edits in the reading. It was a bit distracting but not enough that to hurt the story, just could have been done better.
Final take. Definitely worth the credit. Enough so, the second is already purchased and have recommended it to friends.
