I thinking man’s search and discovery of the perfect worldview

As an exceptionally intelligent man and quintessential logician, as well as a compassionate man, sensitive to the emotional and psychological demands of the human condition, Abdu Murray is extremely effective in understanding, and delivering a “thinking man’s“ search and discovery of the worldview that answers the core questions that dominate our spiritual life. Coming to the Christian worldview via the path of diligently and exhaustively trying to defend his own native Muslim worldview, Abdu has developed deep understanding of all the primary world views out there in ancient and modern forms. He is able to both compare and contrast those world views, in order to illustrate their strengths and weaknesses, finding that the Christian worldview has an answer to all the questions and especially the primary question of each of those worldviews.
Like CS Lewis, he has come to his Christian worldview via the path of “logic,” finding the logical consistency, empirical adequacy, and experiential relevance in that worldview alone. That is an unusual path. You may find his experience and his eloquence very convincing.

This humble reader is not qualified to comment on the quality of this classic other than to endorse a the approbation of true qualified critics.
The madness and folly of Don Quixote yes sometimes hard to endure, but he is high core character and wisdom on subjects other than chivalry are the more highlighted by the contrast with his folly. And of course, the noble aspect of chivalry is displayed despite the fact that the knight errant is so deceived regarding the true nature of the actual temporal situation he is facing. There is much humor and considerable sweetness in the story, especially surrounding the role of Sancho

The story focuses on the weaknesses of all the characters and the disastrous results. I could not finish the book; it only brought me down. I am grateful that the introduction gave the history of the book and revealed that there is “No moral to the story.” With no hope of coming to a point in the story that told of redemption of the unending failures, I had to give it up after getting halfway through.

Negative, depressing, a self abuse to read

The narrator does a good job but the material of this book does not have anything uplifting in it. It is depressing and the weaknesses of the protagonist are endlessly, relentlessly exaggerated and totally out of proportion with reality. There are a very few scattered glimpses of light that are very quickly quenched. Any good that might be in this book is buried under a miserable story and not worth the negative impact on one’s state of mind and emotion.

The creativity and genius of the great storyteller Charles dickens is delightful entertainment. And, David Timson is unparalleled in his dramatic presentation, able to bring out the character and nuances of communication of each of such a great variety of characters; he is a superb thespian.

CS Lewis is always a stimulating and satisfying experience. The emphasis here is on philosophical topics including subjectivism, atheism, vivisection, and capital punishment among others.
Listening to Ralph Cosham is like listening to Lewis himself, wonderful!

It is always such a pleasure to experience GK Chesterton! He is wonderful on any topic about whihe chooses to write. He writes with such clarity and with such understandable terms, with such excellent clarifying analogies and metaphors from practical life, that he renders deep philosophy understandable.
Of course, in this particular effort, that “simplification“ of deep thought is a characteristic of his subject, the Saint. Again and again, the philosophy of Saint Thomas Aquinas is demonstrated to be so consistent with “common sense.“
This book is required reading for anyone who wants to grasp philosophical thought. The brilliance of Aquinas is contrasted throughout the book with the failures of many other philosophies. After honestly and openly reading this book, you are sure to be standing on solid ground from which to view the landscape of philosophy throughout history and in the present time.

I feel sure that this collection of poems does an excellent job of presenting the full spectrum of William Wordsworth poetry. There is quite a variety of themes and styles. This is my first significant experience of Wordsworth so my opinion is of limited value. However, I do feel confident that I have been well exposed to the man and his work.

There is some value in learning from this series of lectures some of the history and surviving aspects of Hinduism. The Voice drips with arrogance, and being an academic intellectual approach, there is much assumption about the meaning of minimal archaeological evidence that is carried forward as basically established fact, a house of cards on a shaky foundation. This series of lectures must be consumed with a large shaker of salt in one hand.

Just listening to the brilliance and eloquence of William F Buckley Junior is a delightful, uplifting experience. In this case, the theme is a sad recording of the abandonment of traditional values and the promotion of collectivism/Socialism in our institutions of higher learning which is since penetrated also into our primary and secondary educational system. Fresh out of Yale at the time of writing this book, Buckley is very well armed to make the indictment. It is amazing that, at such a useful age, he could have such mature insight. Then again, we should recall that Alexander Hamilton was in his early 20s when he wrote a large proportion of the federalist papers. This brilliance In a youthful and passionate person is inspiring.
