Terrible Story
Reviewed: 03-17-25
I would not recommend this book at all. It is terrible and a waste of time. The "biggest reveal" was completely obvious in the first 10 minutes. Not worth it at all.

Incredibly Boring and Far Too Long
Reviewed: 02-20-25
This is definitely not one of her best. It is so boring and slow, and even 4 hours in it has not picked up. I can't finish this, it is not worth the time or credit/money.

Story
It seems like everything should be fine. So why isn't it? In the aftermath, Becca struggles to pick up the pieces, feeling like things should be easier. After all, they won. Didn't they? Then why are the nightmares back? And why can't she shake this nagging feeling that something is still out there, watching her, and biding its time to end this dance once and for all?

Soooooo much arguing and not enough story
Reviewed: 01-22-25
It is unfortunate that there is so much arguing between just about every character. Not enough story. *Spolier alert* Disappointed in how Becca's love life played out in this book. Daniel was so awful to her and she was too quick to forgive, and he barely made things right after what he did.

Story
On a flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that’s going stale and his wife, Miranda, who he’s sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start - he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit - a contrast that once inflamed their passion but has now become a cliché. But their game turns a little darker when Ted jokes that he could kill Miranda....

Story
It’s Halloween night, 1984, in Coventry, Massachusetts, and two families are unraveling. Up and down the street, horrifying secrets are being revealed, and all the while, mixed in with the trick-or-treaters of all ages, four children who do not belong are walking door to door, merging with the kids of Parmenter Road. Children in vintage costumes with faded, eerie makeup. They seem terrified, and beg the neighborhood kids to hide them away, to keep them safe from The Cunning Man.

Pass...Not Great and Quite Sad
Reviewed: 10-27-24
For no good reason and no addition to the story, kids are killed. Awful. Not to mention it is soooooo slow at the beginning, quite boring. Slight horror I guess, mostly just sad.

Story
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Story
Becca has always known something is off about that room. The one at the top of the stairs. The one CB stayed in. Yes, a terrible tragedy occurred within those walls, but there is more to it than that. She had heard rumors about it, as well. Rumors about something happening to anyone who stays there for long periods of time. For over a year now, she had dismissed them as exactly that—rumors. But now, Mia is the one living in it. And Becca doesn't like the changes she is seeing in her… at all.

Amazing series, little payout
Reviewed: 03-26-24
Incredible narrator! Love the series and can't wait for the next one! Unfortunately less payout at the end of each book as the series goes on. Also, Daniel has become such a terrible character and the lead always accepts him treating her poorly, a difficult listen. Lastly, how long do we have to see such a beloved character like Mia be so awful?! Two books isn't enough?

Story
Five hockey players, a cabin in the woods...and little old me, Winnie Berlin. Sounds like the start of a fantasy, right? But it's not. It's my reality. It all started when I got lost in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. A wicked thunderstorm sent my car mud sliding into a ditch, and for a girl whose survival skills involve finding the nearest Starbucks, I was in deep trouble. Forced to abandon my car in search of help, I stumbled upon a cabin in the middle of nowhere.
