Not his best work but the bad narrator made a bad story even worse. Any attempt at suspense was lost in translation.

Good stories overall.
Some of them could’ve been longer and elaborated on more. A couple of them seem to end a little bit abruptly.
Overall great classic John Grisham.
The narration is terrible. Definitely should have chosen someone else to read them or even multiple people.

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Poor little rich kid plagued by his mommy’s death and the paparazzi. Lol like he’s the only one who ever lost their mother at a young age and how it’s traumatized his life. Making himself out to look like he’s better than his peers in the military. Spot on and mastering all things while his mates are sub par. Terrible book. Terrible narration. I give it a single star only because there’s no lower option.

Terrible

The only thing that could have made this worse is if it were written by a straight person intended for a gay audience.
Way too much vulgar language where it’s not needed.
Repeatedly “gay friend” “straight….” It’s clearly a gay themed book it doesn’t need to be driven home in every paragraph of every chapter in the book.
The gay erotica only took away from the story, it definitely didn’t add to it.
I don’t know if the authors story telling improved with his follow up books, but I’m not going to purchase them to find out.

A sexually charged and wickedly funny thriller starring Tony Award-winning actor Billy Crudup, Harry Clarke is the story of a shy Midwestern man leading an outrageous double life as the titular cocky Londoner. Moving to New York City and presenting himself as an Englishman, he charms his way into a wealthy family's life as the seductive and precocious Harry, whose increasingly risky and dangerous behavior threatens to undo more than his persona.

There’s two parts, two stories. The second one isn’t terrible. The first one is the worst thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Terrible story line. Terrible fake accent. I think this was a free Audible Original. I hope so, because the only thing worse than hearing Harry Clarke. Would be paying for this crap.

Story
A master storyteller at his best - the O. Henry Prize winner Stephen King delivers a generous collection of stories, several of them brand-new, featuring revelatory autobiographical comments on when, why, and how he came to write (or rewrite) each story. Magnificent, eerie, utterly compelling, these stories comprise one of King's finest gifts to his constant fan. "I made them especially for you," says King. "Feel free to examine them, but please be careful. The best of them have teeth."

The Hodges and Holly parts are pretty good. The whole “Z Boy” and “Dr Z” parts are pretty lame. He could have wrote the Brady Hartsfield part a lot better. The narrator is terrible with his voice interpretations. He does Holly very badly.

Story
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Its a decent story, but not like his older classic stories. I like how it follows up on the Bill Hodges Trilogy. Disappointed with the narrator though. He leaves a lot to be desired with his attempt to change his voice for different characters, specifically Holly's.
