I went into this book blind; knowing nothing but its relationship to Dickens and that it was beloved. 50 copies at my library but there was a long queue. My turn and I was instantly hooked. So hooked that when I failed to finish in time, I purchased the audiobook so I didn’t have to wait.

I love everything about this book. The characters, the writing, the narrator and the story, my god, the story. Be ready to fall in love and for all sorts of tears. This is on my top 5 all time best books list. Enjoy.

I was thoroughly impressed by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. While I believed I knew the story, I knew but a mere shadow of the tale. I found her telling of the ambition and ultimate destruction of Frankenstein and his creature to be a moving story. I envy her writing style, even with the multitude of wretched countenances. And the narrator, absolute perfection. His voice drips misery when reading Victor, perfectly embodying the character. There are many versions of this audiobook, but I highly recommend grabbing this one!

Confusing Narration

I have love the tale of Dune since I was a child. It’s a great sci fi novel and messiah story. The audiobook is a solid attempt at bringing this story to listeners with the quality of film, both past and present. Unfortunately, the narration ping pongs between a single narrator and an ensemble cast of narrators. Either one is great, but together they are confusing and distracting. I wondered if there were two Barron Hakonnens until reading that this was a hasty attempt by the producers to make an abridged reading unabridged. After understanding this and getting over the terrible decision to subject matter I love, I could let it go.

Definitely heed this warning before buying. If the narration choices are going to bug you, find a different copy.

I really appreciate the rational approach to dealing with kids as future adults. Teaching them over telling them. Lots to work on with many examples and sample conversations/scripts. The book seems more appropriate for kids about 10 and up. Highly recommend.

The book offer a cacophony of information, but the author sounds like he is racing through the material. I can't imagine trying to internalize this amount of material as a non-attorney. That said, there is a ton of useful information for start-up founders.
