Story
Fifty-five years ago, in 1964, an incredibly honest and revealing memoir by one of the America's best-loved comedians and activists, Dick Gregory, was published. With a shocking title and breathtaking writing, Dick Gregory defined a genre and changed the way race was discussed in America.

I couldn't stop listening
Reviewed: 02-21-20
This was such a great book; so deeply personal and far reaching. I loved how truthfully Mr. Gregory expressed his feelings of poverty and shame he experienced as a child. His ability to recall such painful times with as much detail as he did in the book is remarkable. I'm so thankful I pushed through the title and listened to the content. I loved every minute of this book.

Story
In Mighty Justice, trailblazing African American civil rights attorney Dovey Johnson Roundtree recounts her inspiring life story that speaks movingly and urgently to our racially troubled times. From the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina, to the segregated courtrooms of the nation’s capital; from the male stronghold of the army where she broke gender and color barriers to the pulpits of churches where women had waited for years for the right to minister - in all these places, Dovey Johnson Roundtree sought justice.

I recommend this book to others more than any other book. I've purchased it and given it away to someone who needed it many times. I love that it's read by Stormie. She delivers it with as much purpose as she put into writing it.

Story
Like every girl, Sarah Jakes dreamed of a life full of love, laughter, and happy endings. But her dreams changed dramatically when she became pregnant at age 13. Sarah's captivating story, unflinchingly honest and deeply vulnerable, is a vivid reminder that God can turn even the deepest pain into His perfection. More than a memoir, Lost and Found offers hope and encouragement. Perhaps you, like Sarah, find yourself wandering the detours of life. Regardless of how lost you feel, you, too, can be found.

I wasn't expecting to cry
Reviewed: 11-30-18
When Sarah read her story of the moments/days after telling her parents of her pregnancy, reluctant tears weld up in my eyes. I don't cry easily, but I connected with her story. I was pregnant with my son at 14 and hearing Sarah recall her family's response and her own emotions just made me so grateful to God. "Some people learn worship by watching others. Others learn it by experiencing a struggle so great they have no other way to release their relentless shame, the terrifying shame, or unbearable pain". I learned worship the same way! What a beautiful story of being Lost and Found.
