Interesting way to write a book. Mostly descriptions and telling, but because the author has written it in such a lovely way- it works. The book gets even better as you reach the middle of the story and by the end, you can’t put it down. Well done!

Story
There are times in life when we look back and feel desperate to make time stand still, especially when unexpected change happens and all we want is for things to go back to how they were. But we can't stop the flow of life, and we can't stop time. And looking back doesn't enable us to go back. It just makes us stuck. In a place. In a space. In a memory. In a mindset. In a habit.

I had never heard of Lyudmila (Mila)
Pavlichencho before. I was fascinated by her story and humbled by her courage in defending her beloved homeland. Even though many parts of the book were the author’s imagination, it made for a well written and well researched novel.
The narration was wonderful and really added to the ambiance of the storyline. I enjoyed the story from start to finish.

Feeling Sad
Reviewed: 02-13-23
The author has talent, insight, and good character development, though this story contains a lot of sadness and heart break. I was hoping for a happy ending, but alas… Perhaps, for some readers the conclusion was satisfying, but I thought it was rushed, almost as if the author had a deadline and had to wrap up the story quickly.

It took a few chapters before I really got into this story, (so, don’t give up) but once I did, I enjoyed it. I especially appreciated the historical recounting of life in the 1920’s and I learned much about the turbulent politics of Ireland. The characters were well developed and most were very likable. This is the fourth book I’ve read by Ms. Harmon and it won’t be the last! She is an amazing and creative author:-)

Unique perspective from an alien’s point of view and the host body she lives in. Two dialogues playing off of each other in a genius way. Meyer’s characters are complex yet vulnerable and you’ll fall in love with them all.

Twenty-seven-year-old Josey Cirrini is sure of three things: winter in her North Carolina hometown is her favorite season, she's a sorry excuse for a Southern belle, and sweets are best eaten in the privacy of her hidden closet. The author has writing talent, and deserves recognition for that. Unfortunately, the two female protagonist were not like-able characters. It was difficult to keep reading since nearly all male characters were portrayed as evil, selfish, misogynistic, and dull. The narrators did a good job.
