Good but expected more

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It was an okay listen. It didn't pack as much punch as I thought it would, but it was short so it was easily digestible.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The concept was that its like a high school history course. This was its charm but also its limitation as it kind of got dull at times. Not topical humor like the show.
Have you listened to any of Jon Stewart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
If you aren't a fan of him, I doubt you'll like this. If you are, you might.
Do you think The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents America (The Audiobook) needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I would encourage more books to be made with the same type of sarcastic wit and parodying of politics, but maybe not in this format.
Any additional comments?
I probably sound more cynical in retrospect than I was listening to the book. I did find I enjoyable. Put my wife to sleep though on a car trip! So, know what you are getting here.

Story
It's a sad and eerie harbinger of our times that the Oprah-watching, crystal-rubbing, Whole Foods-shopping moms and their whipped attorney husbands have taken the ability to reason away from the poor schlub who makes the Bloody Marys. What we used to settle with common sense or a fist, we now settle with hand sanitizer and lawyers. Adam Carolla has had enough of this insanity and he's here to help us get our collective balls back.

Where does In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks... rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Among comedy, there is no equal in audiobooks. This had me dying of laughter the entire duration.
What was one of the most memorable moments of In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks...?
It's hard to name a single one. I really liked his truck kill switch.
What about Adam Carolla’s performance did you like?
It's natural. You can tell he isn't reading it to you. He is ranting and storytelling ad hoc and that makes it more enjoyable.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It's hit or miss. Be warned you will most likely be offended or off put by some of his comments. A lot makes sense but some might make you cringe. I believe he flat out says men are smarter than women and that we should send kids with peanut allergies to an island. If you can brush that off and realize he is a just a comedian with exagerated opinions, some parts really are true/wise. It's just intermingled with half baked opinions.
Any additional comments?
Hilarious but depends on the listener. Feminists, homosexuals, etc enter at your own risk.

Story
Oswalt combines memoir with uproarious humor, from snow forts to Dungeons & Dragons to gifts from Grandma that had to be explained. He remembers his teen summers spent working in a movie Cineplex and his early years doing stand-up. Readers are also treated to several graphic elements, including a vampire tale for the rest of us and some greeting cards with a special touch.

Not as funny as well written

If you could sum up Zombie Spaceship Wasteland in three words, what would they be?
Zombie spaceship wasteland.
Would you recommend Zombie Spaceship Wasteland to your friends? Why or why not?
No. This books audience is for a certain type of people. A niche market. It won't be universally appreciated, so I say no. With that said, it is enjoyable if you are the target demographic.
Which scene was your favorite?
The D&D "scene" and poem.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, but I did find it surprisingly well written. While I am a fan of his standup, this book was more honest, philosophical, and well written than funny. You can tell Patton is well read and has a passion for literature, movies, music, etc.
