Story
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

this is not written in a traditional style. it is all from first person accounts; (a few different people) retelling events of their particular family's life events to a judge. the, "he said" & then "she said" over n over was annoying. could have been done in a different fashion and it would have made is so much more enjoyable. overall it was a heartbreaking story but just an ok listen. glad it was free!!

Raw & honest. Narrator was pretty stale/sterile but a Great book giving detailed information on how addiction affected him, his life and the ripple effect that had on others and how he viewed all of it both from inside addiction and also how he viewed things looking back through new eyes & heart. insightful

Story
It happened the day of the Moon Festival. It could have been left behind, they all could have moved on with their lives. But secrets have a habit of rising to the surface, especially in small towns. Two couples, four ironclad friendships, the perfect coastal holiday town. With salt-stung houses perched like lifeguards overlooking the shore, Lago Point is the scene of postcards, not crime scenes. Wife and mother Abbi, town cop Blake, schoolteacher Hannah and local doctor Will are caught in their own tangled webs of deceit.

Hard to follow!!

You'd think with a 12 hour book I'd have been able to sort out who is who in the storyline because that SHOULD be plenty of time to get settled and engrossed into the story. While I FINALLY did figure out the 4 main characters & the villain about 3/4 of the way in, I still found myself at the very end wondering who one character was. I may ask for a refund on this one. It was difficult to stick with because I had trouble getting who was who. Lots of jumping around

I was disappointed because I really enjoy biographies where I can get to know artists that I don't know anything about or get to know more about artists I am familiar with, but this is literally Billie and her parents looking through photo albums and perhaps news clippings & different things of that nature, album covers, Etc., and giving commentary on where they were or what they were doing, "the outfit was so cute", "we had such a good time", etc. So I don't feel like I got to learn about Billie or her music like I had hoped to. Glad it was on a deep discount for 99 cents though

Took a while to keep up and figure out who was who. Then it got a bit strange , but still fairly interesting. I was dying to find out how she knew every move they were making - that's where it got very weird, but not till just near the end. Odd book. WAY off path from anything I've ever listened to. Not bad though, just different

Story
From his rapid-fire stand-up comedy riffs to his breakout role in Mork & Mindy and his Academy Award-winning performance in Good Will Hunting, Robin Williams was a singularly innovative and beloved entertainer. He often came across as a man possessed, holding forth on culture and politics while mixing in personal revelations - all with mercurial, tongue-twisting intensity as he inhabited and shed one character after another with lightning speed. But as Dave Itzkoff shows in this revelatory biography, Williams’ comic brilliance masked a deep well of conflicting emotions and self-doubt.

A great, thorough history of Robin, well narrated
Reviewed: 06-22-21
For me personally this was a struggle at times. Not because the book was bad but because I didn't know Robin well enough to be interested in his filmography and timeline. Sure, there were plenty of interesting tidbits and insights into who Robin was, but for me, this was pretty boring at times. If it had been about someone I was more familiar with then I don't think I would have that opinion. The book was great if you're looking for a complete timeline of his works, projects, interests, loves, trials, etc., which is honestly what I would want from a biography and listen to them a lot, but this one was a little over my head and I believe that's only because I didn't have enough of a personal interest or connection with Robin himself, just some of his characters. I was very enlightened to learn more about his mental health and the disease he suffered. That was explained very well (at the end) and I am glad to know more about those things as they pertained to Robin. It definitely was extremely informative and told from a close, inside perspective .

This was weird. I love Aaron Paul but he didn't do a great job here, it was ok, maybe close to good, but because it was audio only, it seemed he added a lot of extra breathing/huffing, etc for accent & effect but I found it super annoying and too frequent. Bridges was wonderful and of course seemed like a natural. This is definitely different from any audiobook I've ever listened to, but I probably won't do it again. It literally sounded like a series on TV or Netflix
