Story
Stella's mama never should've put Stella on the church prayer list. With Stella's 27th birthday coming up fast, Nancy desperately wants to see her daughter married and giving her grandbabies. Petitioning heaven seems like a surefire way to get it done. But in Cadillac, Texas, where the gossip's hotter than the city's famous jalapeño peppers, it isn't long before all hell breaks loose.

The characters were fun

I can’t believe the negative remarks! Yes there was language but you need to start at the first book to understand the characters—Agnes!! Loved her! from the first book to this one. I was born and raised in small town central Texas, loved the mention of the so many towns I know. Can’t wait for the next! Oh, could you make the second book in the series audio, already read it but listening brings the characters to life.

Cathy Andrews wants it all: a husband, a baby, and a little house in her charming small town of Cadillac, Texas. With all that she’s gone through in her past, she’s earned her happily ever after and is more than ready to put down some long-term roots. The trouble is, she’s no longer sure the reliable man she agreed to marry is the right guy. Sure, he’s got great teeth and hair, but he’s also got dreams of being a politician—and Cathy doesn’t know if she’s ready to be just arm candy to a man who doesn’t stir her blood.

Story
Recognizing how common it is for crafters to start many projects and finish few, a group of women join together to form a guild - Unfinished Projects Anonymous - to keep each other on track and accountable. Three friends are tasked with the job of home visits for their guild. Over the course of the story, this ensemble of women discover that much of life is half-finished - relationships, the raising of children, even our very relationship with the Lord - and that may be perfectly fine.

Story
Life began again for Dylan Styles when his beloved wife Maggie awoke from a coma. A coma brought on by the intense two-day labor that resulted in heartbreaking loss. In this poignant love story that is redolent with Southern atmosphere, Dylan and Maggie must come to terms with their past before they can embrace their future.

Loved the story but ..

As usual, the story was great but I agree with others— you should of used the same narrator that you used on the first book in the series. I struggled listening to this narrator, too much inflection in his voice.

I started listening to Charles Martin’s books with the “Waters” series, feel in love at that moment to his writing. This book is my 4th to listen to, highly recommend it and others.
