Out of the blue, a young Space Fleet officer's dream becomes reality: He's made captain of a starship. Just in time for the return of humanity's most terrible enemy, after 50 years of peace. To survive against this enemy, Captain Tad Thatcher will have to do more than learn how to become an effective commander, or how to wrangle his wayward crew. He will need to reinvent space combat. waste of time!
Reviewed: 10-13-23
long build up of a complex space opera with elements of time travel only to end in such a disappointingly nonsensical way that I felt cheated out of my time for the whole series! I'm legitimately angry about it. I feel like I've wasted tens of hours only to be Rick rolled.

I'm pissed off that I even started this series...
Reviewed: 10-13-23
I literally feel like my time has been wasted. the ending was so bad as to not make any sense. I'm going to try and return this entire series and never read anything by this author again. it was a long drawn out emotional buildup to an ending that was so bad the author felt the need to leave a several minutes long note to explain it! this is literally the first time any book has ever made me feel like I've wasted my time like I've been cheated.

Mother and warrior. Scholar and spy. Rebel and hero. Set in a magical world of terror and wonder, this novel is a deeply felt epic of courage and war, in which the fates of these characters intertwine - and where ordinary people become heroes, and their lives become legend.

a fantastic saga in a unique world.
Reviewed: 09-27-21
The weaving of disparate and compelling character arcs together in this unique yet familiar world forces you to pay attention. I'm in my third or fourth listen and look forward to the rest of this saga. The only criticism I can muster is the songs. Mr Daniels has a fine voice but it's almost like he couldn't grasp the right tune for them and made me chuckle every time. or it was on purpose and I'm just dense... lol

After the passage of two decades, the Omnians discovered a second, critical clue about the Nua'll, humankind's enemy, while investigating Celus-4, the home world of the intelligent, canine-like aliens, the Dischnya. This striking discovery, combined with the final broadcast of the Nua'll sphere at Libre, prior to its detonation, gave Alex Racine and company the means to narrow the search for the Nua'll home world. Alex has a consuming desire to locate the point of origin of the Nua'll before another gigantic sphere arrives to destroy more human colonies.

Mr Jucha has a knack for coming up with really cool and unique aliens. Another great read in the silver ships series. I can't wait to see what he comes up with in Nuall.

If you like sci-fi this is for you. If you're a fan of series' like The Lost Fleet, Bobiverse, or Omega Force then you'll love this series. I've read all of them up to date and haven't gotten even a little bit bored. Mr Jucha knows how to keep your attention with a compelling story and a main character that somehow keeps finding solutions to problems that will have you gaping at the genius of them while slapping your forehead at their simplicity. I somehow keep thinking "why didn't I see that coming." and "I'd have NEVER thought of that." at the same damn time. LOL
I don't even know how that's possible, but he keeps doing it book after book. You'll be hooked by chapter 3, I promise. Even my mother loves them and she's not even a sci-fi fan. HA

I loved the story and the interaction between characters in the background. Started a little bit slow but I was hooked by the 3rd or 4th chapter. If you liked the silver ships you'll like this too.
