We should have all had classes in middle school covering this book. There are great little stories and a step by step on how to clearly communicate with people in almost any situation. Well done.

Story
The Broken Mirror: Refracted Visions of Ourselves explores the need to know ourselves more deeply, and the many obstacles that stand in our way. The various sections illustrate internal obstacles such as intimidation by the magnitude of the project, the readiness to avoid the hard work, and gnawing self-doubt, but also provide tools to strengthen consciousness to take these obstacles on. Additional essays address living in haunted houses, the necessity of failure, and the gift and limits of therapy.

Story
The Eden Project is a timely and thought-provoking corrective to the generalized fantasies about relationships that permeate our culture. This is not a practical guide on how to fix a relationship, but rather a challenge to greater personal responsibility in relationships, a call for individual growth as opposed to seeking rescue through others.

Story
Ronald Reagan today is a conservative icon, celebrated for transforming the American domestic agenda and playing a crucial part in ending communism in the Soviet Union. In his masterful new biography, H. W. Brands argues that Reagan, along with FDR, was the most consequential president of the 20th century. Reagan took office at a time when the public sector, after a half century of New Deal liberalism, was widely perceived as bloated and inefficient, an impediment to personal liberty.

A Must Read
Reviewed: 11-08-23
This book is a vivid reminder on how evil humans can be to each other if given a chance. Even decent people will go along with such evil to protect their own interest. This book should be required reading in every high school before children reach full adulthood. History may not completely repeat because the characters, conditions, and technology are forever changing. The brutality found in the nature of humans does keep repeating and it is imperative to have this knowledge so when we are witnessing the start of oppression in any form we will not deny it and then take action as a society to prevent its further spread.

Story
Virtually all Americans above a certain age hold strong opinions about Douglas MacArthur. They either worship him or despise him. Now, in this superb book, one of our most outstanding writers, after a meticulous three-year examination of the record, presents his startling insights about the man. The narrative is gripping, because the general's life was fascinating. It is moving, because he was a man of vision. It ends, finally, in tragedy, because his character, though majestic, was tragically flawed.

Story
Many of us live and operate from a mind-set of lack, scarcity, and limitation. We focus on what we don’t have - financial security, confidence, an intimate relationship - which keeps us feeling insecure and inadequate. We think “if only I could have those things, I could be happy”. But measuring wealth by money or material possessions leaves us feeling drained and spiritually empty. Constantly striving for more often means our ego is driving our thoughts, actions, and reactions, which prevents us from reaching something greater.
