I have such mixed feelings about this book! Really really couldn’t stand the MFC… to make matters worse CJ Blooms voice is like nails on a chalk board to me. I have avoided books she narrates and I now remember why. Her character was vapid and actually so unbelievable. Blake was ok… but again so many stupid misunderstandings. I almost DNF. And now… the epilogue throws a cliffhanger… 👎

Wow… this was a tough read dealing with some really heavy subjects.. verbal abuse of Emerson, and her suffering as a child was beyond heartbreaking. I loved how she was able to evolve as an adult, letting go of her inner demons caused by others.. Liam was the perfect foil for her and their relationship was a beautiful read in loving and steadfastness! I’m on to the next one!!!

The three stories were entertwined around the 3 male characters, and a tragedy they all had to overcome. They were complex characters although book 2 and three were slightly repetitive. I’m just starting to read A L Jackson, and I know I will read more!

Honestly my review is colored by the 🌶️🌶️🌶️, as noted by other reviewers. I totally did not expect the twist in the end.. so, with that being said I liked the book. However there was a lot of gratuitous 🌶️🌶️. The poignant story was because of the love from Mimi. This is the second book I’ve listened too by this author. I’m not sure I’ll read a third.

This story has it all!! Great main characters, banter, tension, side characters interesting and add to the story. My one little criticism is the resolving of the main issue in the story between the sisters. For this being the main bone of contention between the two, it seemed like it was pretty easily resolved. However there is no other author I would rather read… so in my book it’s still a 10!!!

I loved this story! Great characters… Ben and Jessica were so great! Ben’s complications and Jessica’s response to them were just a great read. Some of it ( in a hospital setting ) was a little far fetched, but really fun. The other characters were also interesting. Although I haven’t checked, I’m sure there are books about them too! I will look forward to listening. My one negative was the narrator. Although she was good, this book would’ve been better with a male narrator like Jason Clark. Gruffness and sarcasm is hard to imitate with only one narrator. Still I liked it a lot.

Have just found this author… mainly because I like books about royals and commoners. Emma Chace wrote some really good ones. So, I really liked this book, but the female narrator’s portrayal of Abby sort of puzzled me. I’m not sure whether she was trying to portray Abby being on the spectrum, or just being so smart that her being able to follow social cues were lacking. I loved her character, and she certainly portrayed her even up to the end of the book that way. Jason Clark’s narrative was “Wowsers!” His voice is so powerful, but tender. So, that being said, I’m off to the second book in the series!! I love connected yet standalone stories. Oh, another thing that bugged me were the two podcasters. The one’s giggling totally annoying!

I was a little disappointed in this book, mainly because JBengsston an author whom I loved recommended it. It was ok… there parts of the story like the horrific event that caused Cadence her disability were not explained very well. The build up to that event felt like a minor detail. Also the relationship between Harden and Hayley… very confusing and maybe there is a book about them I don’t know. Also Killians hatred toward Cadence was not explained well, as he was such a minor character. I guess there will never be another writer like JBengstton, and this one did not measure up.

This book does not disappoint. Loved the love story, the depth of character development. The small intertwining of characters from the other novels in this series. I guess I’m going to have to wait a bit longer for the last book in this series! I’m such a fan!

This is my first Elsie Silvers novel! I absolutely loved it. Love unrequited love, younger sister… hilarious well written banter! You cannot beat Zachary Webber and Vanessa Edwin who made the characters come to life! I’m on to the second book… so excited!!!
