Story
It is a perfect July morning, and Elle, a 50-year-old happily married mother of three, awakens at “The Paper Palace” - the family summer place she has visited every summer of her life. But this morning is different: Last night, Elle and her oldest friend, Jonas, crept out the back door into the darkness and had sex with each other for the first time, all while their spouses chatted away inside. Now, Elle will have to decide between the life she has made with her genuinely beloved husband and the life she always imagined she would have had with her childhood love.

I felt tricked, bait and switch. You think you’re going to read a novel about the interesting eventful life of a movie star but find yourself mired in a boring plot between two lesbians. Not what I signed up to read. I did not finish the book.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series but this one is boring and appears to take political jabs and falsely influence readers based on emotions and false narratives rather than logic and facts. I tried to finish it but I just couldn’t love the characters like I did in the first book. Mr. Murray McBride will always have my heart though.

Filthy book with rude, unnecessary, lewd sexual talk and the f word slung around everywhere. I listened to more than half of it but I got confused trying to remember which man was which in the vast number of sexual exploits and completely lost interest while growing tired of the filth. Don’t waste your time.
