Story
In 1934, a friend brought fledgling actress Vivien Leigh to see Theatre Royal, where she would first lay eyes on Laurence Olivier in his brilliant performance as Anthony Cavendish. That night, she confided to a friend, he was the man she was going to marry. There was just one problem: She was already married - and so was he. Truly, Madly is the biography of a marriage, a love affair that still captivates millions, even decades after both actors' deaths.

Passion has its limits
Reviewed: 04-04-24
Galloway presents a beautiful but troubled love story between 2 brilliantly talented actors. Their love, passion and shared talent could not overcome Vivien Leigh's illness that took years to diagnose. Descriptions of their life together, then apart paint a vivid picture of 2 lovers who never stopped loving each other, yet could not continue being together. Highly recommend, especially if you love classic movies and their stars.

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

The Real Truth, at last!
Reviewed: 01-25-23
Prince Harry's account of his family's treatment by the British press is shockingly candid and refreshing! Instead of sweeping things under the rug, he decided to take a stand against the despicable people who tormented & killed his mother, gallantly stands by his wife & tells the truth about the abusive relationship between the Palace & the horrific media. His accounts of mistakes he'd made growing up and his military service are sincere & vulnerable. Let him live his life with his beautiful wife & children!
Bully for Prince Harry!!!

Story
Aristotle Onassis was a born orator, and Jackie Kennedy would sit and listen to him spin off tales and stories - often racy - by the hour. A speaker of seven languages, he could keep a dinner party of some of the world's most sophisticated conversationalists spellbound. Even Jackie couldn't help but drop her reserve and laugh with him. America's First Lady simply never knew anyone quite as free or exotic as Aristotle Onassis, a paradoxical blend of raconteur and ruffian.

Story
Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

Fun romp through an innocent, some would say, sheltered Minnesota girl's journey into other people's normal sex lives. Starts off a bit slow but Heidi's awakening is both hysterical & heartfelt.

In 1960, she was a 17-year-old Brooklyn kid with plenty of talent but no connections and certainly no money; her mother brought her soup to make sure she stayed fed as she took acting classes and scraped out a living. Just four years later, Barbra Streisand was the top-selling female recording artist in America and the star of one of Broadway’s biggest hits. Now the acclaimed Hollywood biographer William Mann chronicles that dizzying ascent, telling the riveting behind-the-scenes story of how Streisand and her team transformed her from an unknown dreamer into a worldwide superstar.

I really enjoyed this book! Giving superheroes psychological analysis was really fun & interesting. My only criticism is that it seems that no one edited the performance. Many times throughout the book, the reader repeated himself when he'd made a mistake & it wasn't edited out.
