During the heady years of the tech boom, incorrigibly frank Sophia Young lucks into a job that puts her directly in the path of Scott Kraft, the eccentric CEO of Treehouse, a studio whose animated films are transforming movies forever. Overnight, Sophia becomes an unlikely nerd whisperer. Whether her success is due to dumb luck, savage assertiveness, insightful finesse (learned by dealing with her irrational Chinese immigrant mother), or a combination of all three, in her rarified position she finds she can truly shine.

This book had a lot of potential, but honestly I just got tired of hating every character and gave up with 2 hours to go. Disappointing.

Story
A posthumous recipient of the World Fantasy Award for Lifetime Achievement, Marion Zimmer Bradley reinvented - and rejuvenated - the King Arthur mythos with her extraordinary Mists of Avalon series. In this epic work, Bradley follows the arc of the timeless tale from the perspective of its previously marginalized female characters: Celtic priestess Morgaine, Gwenhwyfar, and High Priestess Viviane.

Fantastic narration and gripping story

Davina Porter is an amazing narrator (I fell in love with the Outlander audios), and she did a beautiful job of bringing these characters to life. I've never been drawn to the Camelot/King Arthur tales, but The Mists of Avalon made me so curious about the legends that I've been scouring the web for all the background information! It's beautifully written and full of action and intrigue. If you love a big, giant historical fiction/fantasy book to really get lost in, this is a great one.

Loved this book!

I have already recommended this book to all my friends. Fantastic story and beautiful writing. Most books I've read with a metaphysical theme have a female narrator - it was nice to have a male voice in this one. I would recommend The Book of Speculation to anyone who enjoyed The Night Circus, A Discovery of Witches, or Shadow of the Wind.
