Story
The Solarian League lies in defeat, crushed by the Grand Alliance of Manticore, Haven, and Grayson. Obedient to the Alliance's surrender demands, the League is writing a new Constitution, to prevent the reemergence of out-of-control bureaucrats, like the "Mandarins" who led it to disaster. Frontier Security has been disbanded, the outer worlds have regained control of their own economic destinies, and multiple star systems will soon secede from the League entirely.

A great story in an enthralling web in a world with a history you could believe happened. Good character interactions from well rounded characters flaws and all. All in all this is my go to sci-fi literary series. Star Wars and Star Trek have their niches in the pantheon of science fiction but Mr. Weber has given us a military sci-fi that neither giant can equal. Start "On Basilisk Station" and join the legion of readers through the joy and tears, successes and failures of Honor Harrington and family.

A copy of this wound up on the donated books shelf when I was on a deployment. I read it out of desperation that it looked sci-fi not bawdy romance and found a very entertaining book. An interesting setting, engaging charaters, a story line that makes you chuckle and want to see where it takes the characters. It will never be a box office hit but I bought my own copy after that deployment and have read or listen to it several time just for the sheer pleasure.

Story
The Solarian League's navy counts its superdreadnoughts by the thousands. Not even its own government knows how enormous its economy truly is. And for hundreds of years, the League has borne the banner of human civilization, been the ideal to which humanity aspires in its diaspora across the galaxy. But the bureaucrats known as the "Mandarins," who rule today's League, are not the men and women who founded it so long ago. They are corrupt, venal, accountable to no one...and they've decided the upstart Star Kingdom of Manticore must be destroyed.

Mr Weber has always excelled with his characters and story continuity. This story holds to his high standards. We have been dreading the shift in the story away from or beloved HH but like any long career things have and will change. I look forward to see the series continue to mature and grow. No more the Cpt, Adm, now we'll see...what we'll see. The best of our nature setting an example for us.

A classic Lamour western. He wrote not of just what was but of the hopes and dreams of those who lived through the time. Men and women, good and bad, right and wrong. A bard retelling the tales of his childhood.

Story
What can the call to discipleship, the adherence to the word of Jesus, mean today to the businessman, the soldier, the laborer, or the aristocrat? What did Jesus mean to say to us? What is his will for us today? Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between "cheap grace" and "costly grace."

Keep on the Borderlands was one of the very first D&D adventures, so seasoned gamers remember this product from their early days, and newer gamers will recognize it from the 25th anniversary rerelease. Greyhawk novels are based on the classic D&D modules from this world and provide listeners with the same kind of feeling that they get playing classic D&D modules.

A Dungeon and Dragons classic adventure box converted to a book then audio book. One of the best adventures in the DnD pantheon of stories with devious enemies, deadly traps, brave hero's, tragedy, and glory. For those that have never played DnD its a great introduction to what's possible. For those that have played it at the table its a great reminder that our party did it better.

Story
Welcome to Pod Against the Machine, the only Actual Play podcast that specifically mentions its opposition to the machine in the title. We’re a ragtag group of five creating an epic story while playing through the Iron Gods Pathfinder First Edition adventure path from Paizo publishing. It’s like Dungeons and Dragons, complete with wizards, monsters, and skeletons...but with an added bonus of evil robots and horrifying aliens, all tied together with our (hopefully) funny banter, interesting characters, and edge-of-your-seat action.
