Not great...at least the narrator was good

As a player who picked this game up in the 70s, I am familiar with this mod. It was never one of my favorite, and now the story proves that idea. It was simply a bit dry as a story. The writing was a bit cliche as it played out. Sort of like a bunch of old fantasy tales pieced into this one story to make the complete tale. There just wasn't anything that made me sink into the story. The saving grace came from Mr. Clark's voice work.

Great Story

This was a fantastic story that I would listen to again. The main character was very believable and went through several archs and grew through the entire story. The secondary character was likable and each had their own personality and story arch.

The story itself was great having played through it years ago. It reminded me of so many parts of our own adventure.

I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys DnD.

What an adventure

I remember playing adventure pen and paper with my friends in high school, this and really takes you back, some things are like seeing an old friend and some mist have been parts we missed or we played through differently 😁. Great listen to anyone who played this epic campaign adventure.

Cheesy but Good

I ran a player through the Temple back in the 80s and DM’d a group a few years ago. Fu
n to listen to this story and hear the NPCs come to life and remember what was happening in various scenes when I went through it.

Great Tale

Book 3 was a great tale! Even though it didn’t have the same characters as one and two, it was a truly entertaining story. Highly recommended.

No fairies, but no worries

After the 1st two books i was really looking forward to Jus and the fairy, i wasnt let down, but i def want the characters in this one to hook up with Jus at some point. Im a DnD player but no knowing of the series so this is fun for me to listen to.

Just as I remember

I read this book and reread this book back in high school and loved it, so when I found the audio version I had to get it. It doesn’t disappoint - the narrator captures each character perfectly and his tones are perfect for this sort of story. I only wish that the other books in the series also were centered around this group of characters.

Close, but lacking.

Overall an okay story, but the combat scenes were lacking any detail or suspense.

Not Paul Kidd

Would you try another book from Thomas M. Reid and/or Bernard Setaro Clark?

I would not try another book from Thomas M. Reid. This books was really boring. The romance put into the storyline was really bad. Main character seemed weak.

Would you ever listen to anything by Thomas M. Reid again?

No.

Which character – as performed by Bernard Setaro Clark – was your favorite?

The thief was good.

Was The Temple of Elemental Evil worth the listening time?

NO. Skip book 3. It has nothing to do with the first two.

Any additional comments?

Skip this book and go straight to book 4. You will be happy you did.
